Universal Studios Orlando have put out an image and a short press release to promote the opening of Transformers the Ride at Universal Studios Orlando in a little under a month's time! Standing 28 feet tall, this is a life-size statue of the Autobot leader as depicted in Michael Bay's live-action movies. Check out the image at left, a higher-res one after the break, and the press release below!
Optimus Prime is ready for battle – towering above the entrance to Universal Orlando Resort’s highly-anticipated, blockbuster attraction, TRANSFORMERS: The Ride – 3D. The addition of the authentically-sized leader of the Autobots Thursday morning, May 30, 2013 is one of the finishing touches to the attraction. Optimus Prime stands guard at 28 feet tall and nearly nine tons, beckoning recruits to join the resistance against the invading Decepticons. The mind-blowing, action-packed thrill ride, which was constructed in record time, officially opens June 20 at Universal Studios Florida. |

Concept artist Emiliano Santalucia has posted some new concept work that he did for Hasbro during the development of Transformers Dark of the Moon. There are two pieces of artwork posted, depicting the evolution of a piece titled "Autobot firefight". It's a pure pre-visualisation piece from when ideas were still being batted around, depicting a new team of Autobots. At the time this was done no specific characters were defined other than the team wanting them to be new and look cool, which they certainly do in this piece.
Of interest is that while this is a very early concept, you can see a lot of what made it into the final cut - namely this seems to represent the battle of Chicago. For those who like to see the progress of a piece of work, Emiliano has also posted up his initial sketch of the piece which you can compare to the final work to see how the ideas evolved during the design process. |

Here is something rather cool - the Optimus Prime and Bumblebee walkaround costumes made an appearance at the Miami Marlins game with the Tampa Blue Rays recently. The characters walked out on to the field in association with the Give Kids the World Foundation to accompany young Timothy Stahlsmith as he made a ceremonial first pitch. They then stuck around to take photos with fans young and old alike.
Check out a photo of their appearance via the Marlins Instagram feed, and a video via Yahoo Sports. |

We at TFW2005 got fond memories when it comes to Transformers: Rescue Bots; because we were the first to announce the series and the toyline to the world with Exclusive Concept Art from 2005 Boards Member Matrix Soul.
Moments ago D.C. Douglas tweeted (retweeted by Steve Blum) an image from the Finale Wrap Party thus marking the end of the 2nd season production. "#Transformers #RescueBots final session wrap party!" 3rd Season is not planned yet. D.C. Douglas mentioned this at FB: "#autobots weep for it is the final recording session of #Transformers #RescueBots 2nd season. IF we get a season 3, it'll be a year before we know... " Though started as a series to educate children about Hazards & Safety, Transformers: Rescue Bots quickly became popular even among adult fans. If this is the final season, we are sure most of you will miss the Burns Family and the group of Autobots dedicated to make this world a better place. |

By way of Japanese imageboard 2Chan, an image reaches us of the Maketoys Nemesis Battle Tanker remold. Nemesis is shown in the story that accompanies the group's upcoming not-Fallen Paladin Chaos release, and appears to be an IDW Nemesis / Nova Prime inspired upgrade for the TFCC Scourge. He also seems to be sporting a cape and a lot of chains - either like some kind of dark lord, or possibly a pro-Wrestler. Check out the image attached to this story.

Hot off the press of Michael Bay's Shoot for the Edit twitter account - the large military styled truck seen on the set of Transformers 4 has been confirmed to be Autobot Hound! Hound has bulked up a bit over his classic depiction as a military jeep, but he remains a suitably military design. Check out the picture tweeted along with this story showcasing the new vehicle mode and see what you think!

The Wing set adds four Generation 1 Aerialbot styled guns for the four limb robots, the large main gun for Blackbird / Uranos himself which can arm mount or be hand-held, a new, Generation 1 styled chestpiece, Generation 1 styled waist armor, a faceplate, and missiles for the jet mode. The various parts can also be combined into their own jet / gunship form.

Dream Factory have teased some new versions of their Transformers Prime Bulkhead Blast Cannon accessory set on their Weibo account. The different versions shown variously add more or less silver into the mix compared to the original - although a fourth deco is also shown, and that one is the most interesting. Depicted in gold rather than green, it closely resembles the "Forge of Solus Prime" as shown in the Transformers Prime cartoon.
None are confirmed for a release as yet - our understanding is that Dream Factory are considering all four, but have yet to decide which if any to move forward with. |

Keith's Fantasy Club have revealed a limited run redeco of their B-Box and Birdbomber unlicensed Beastbox & Squawktalk. The new versions are known as Smackdown and Black Hawk, members of the "Black Redeco Clan". They are black redecos, limited to 500 pieces and made exclusively for the group Hands of Steel. Amusingly their combined form is known as "Black Hawk Down", one of the many amusing film references in this set (Smack Down's bio contains another, this one to the movie King of Kong)

Fox Detroit has posted a video about the recent Transformers 4 casting call in Michigan. Following the previous Transformers live action movies filming in Michigan Michael Bay is stepping up his filming in the area - this video gives you an idea of just how much of Michigan is being used for Transformers 4, including a reference to how part of the story will be set in Hong Kong, but will be filming in Michigan.
Of interest to those tracking character reveals - Maryellen Aviano, the Transformers 4 casting co-ordinator, when discussing the vehicles that will be used in Transformers 4 mentions Corvettes, suggesting more than one Corvette character will be featured in the new movie. We already know that a 2014 C7 Corvette Stingray is to be featured, but this suggests that a second Corvette will also be appearing - could Sideswipe be returning? Check out the video segment embedded below: |

From her introduction in 1986, Arcee has been an Autobot warrior first and a female Autobot second, and no where is this more clear than Transformers Prime Arcee, an extremely competent warrior capable of combining acrobatic skill with precision strikes - as illustrated by the relative ease with which she dispatches Vehicons and Insecticons (see yesterday's episode, Plus One, for an example of Arcee's skill in action).
The Transformers Prime Arcee mainline toy - the second toy of Prime Arcee to be released in Deluxe scale, following the First Edition toy - is an excellent realisation of the character. Like the First Edition she sports a great resemblance to the on screen character and top-notch articulation, more necessary than ever when you are dealing with a character like Arcee who does lots of acrobatic moves. The toys likeness - especially in the face and with the 5mm capable hands - in some ways even eclipse the First Edition Arcee. Overall this is a great Arcee toy to have in your collection, whether you missed out on the First Edition or not. This Arcee also has a remold planned for the upcoming Wave 4 of Beast Hunters, complete with longbow and more silver details, for those who missed out on this one while it was in stores.
