Via the Transformers Colombia Facebook group, we can share some additional news on the Oreo Transformers giveaway currently taking place in South America. From what information we have learned from the posts of Black Convoy in the Facebook group, the promotion runs by giving away stickers in specially marked Oreo packs - with each sticker featuring a code that can be input on to the Ganaoreo site.
By accounts it seems that all four of the Deluxes in the first assortment are up for grabs - that's Scorn, High Octane Bumblebee, Crosshairs and Slug - but none of them come with their weapons other than Bumblebee's missile. There are also posters and stickers being given away as a part of the promotion. |

For part 2, we'll dive in and take a look at the at-show exclusives, which paid homage to some of the many exclusive characters from past Botcons. They were sold in three sets - a "Knights set" which consisted of Alpha Trizer, Flareup and Apelinq, a "Pirate set" which included Hunter and Brimstone, and a troop builder set of Cannonball's Dread Pirate Crew (aka Vehicon redecos based on Decepticon clones Pounce and Wingspan). While there is no denying that super-deformed Transformers - that's Transformers with heads much larger than their bodies - is a niche area of collecting, it is one that is getting steadily filled out both officially by Takara-Tomy and their Q Transformers, and unofficially with unlicensed third party releases.
The latest addition to the third party side of the equation is Topeam, who are making an SD and fully transformable Jazz figure. And yes - we are informed that disproportionately huge noggin does not need to be removed as a part of the transformation. Check out some images - coming at you via the TFClub Weibo feed - after the break. |

This one is an extremely limited run item, and to the best of our knowledge is hand-customised, so it's effectively a Lucky Draw! It also looks rather awesome, so check out the pics after the break.

IDW Transformers colorist John-Paul Bove has posted a new Transformers: Robots in Disguise #32 30th anniversary variant cover on his Tumblr. Drawn by Casey Coller and colored by John-Paul, the cover features Unicron, Optimus Prime, and Scorponok, among others:
"So finally I can reveal this cover and it is possibly my favourite single image I have worked on. This is one of my favourite moments in all of TF history and I wanted to have Unicron swept up in fiery hell and Optimus and Scorponok to be in a cool and contemplative hue. A still moment contrasted against a firestorm. Hope you dig it!" "Possibly my favourite thing I have ever coloured. Hope you dig!" Check it after the jump, and don't forget to pick up RID #32 when it releases in two days on Wednesday, August 20! |

Courtesy of TFW2005 member ahchu, we have a tip that the Construct Bots Dinobot Warriors Hound and Bumblebee sets are now showing up at US retail. These sets pair a larger Construct Bot with a Dinobot partner which can break down to form armor or weapons for the main figure. These guys were sighted in a Kmart in Concord, CA priced $19.99.

TFW2005 would like to alert the fandom to a pretty cool Kickstarter going on right now. The project aims to restore the Generation 1 cartoon soundtrack music to the best possible quality it can be.
To date, music from the series has never been officially released in any form. This is probably because much of it appeared in many different shows, and not all Hasbro owned properties. You can find a lot of it in Jem, G.I. Joe, Transformers, and even Spider-Man. Basically, anything Marvel/Sunbow produced. Licensing rights and royalties are probably a nightmare. Any extended pieces of music were stitched together by cutting uninterrupted 1/2/3/4/5 second clips right from the DVDs until you had something resembling a song. This is tedious, hard work. Listening to over 2000 hours of episode audio just to pull maybe 30 minutes out in 1 second intervals is crazy and awesome. This was done over the last several years by Grimbot, who shared his work via TFCog. I personally did this myself, though not to this extent, so I know how hard it can be. Back when TFW2005 started, one of it's main purposes was a way for me to share the Transformers focused music remixes I did, most using background clips I cut out of the show. Tho back then, I pushed a VCR into a microphone-in jack and recorded entire episodes at a time to the computer as WAVs, then cut out clips in Sound Forge. I constantly ran into situations where a footstep, computer beep, start of a sentence, breathing, wind, - you name it, would interrupt my clip and ruin the loop. Having this software or this mix 14 years ago would have been awesome. The Kickstarter by Jimbo is now attempting to clean and restore that mix by Grimbot even further, using top of the line editing software. In the presentation video, they show examples of what can be done. It is reasonably priced, only asking for 650 dollars in order to get the software at a discounted price of half off ~1200. And, it's half funded as of this story. There are also some stretch goals, if they get to 1250 total they will also obtain and apply two additional pieces of software to make it even better. So, we urge you as fans to support this if you dig that original G1 toon music, even if it's just a couple bucks. Hopefully when done, their hard work will give the fans something awesome to rock out and reminisce to. Head on over and support it if you can! WORD! |

Third party group Bold Forms have shared some new images of prototypes of their unofficial takes on Motormaster and Megatron, aka Lone Wolf and Gladius. From these images we can see the Megatron has a Generation 1 style robot mode with a tank alternate mode - much like the upcoming Hasbro Leader class toy - while the Motormaster seems to be a Masterpiece scaled version of the Generation 1 toy with some extra details included.
Discuss the Lone Wolf / Motormaster images here, and the Gladius / Megatron images here. |

Thanks to TFW2005 boards member netkid for linking us to a new Transformers Hero Mashers commercial. For those coming across these toys for the first time, Hero Mashers is a collection of toys just like the name implies: you take your favorite Trasnformers heros (or villains) and mash them together to create Frankenstein-esque characters! An Optimus Prime body with a Grimlock head? No problem!
Check out the commercial below to see it in action! |

Any villainy that dare threaten the planet will be met with valiant courage, unwavering will, and Cybertron's greatest warriors! What remains of Unicron has cast its shadow over Cybertron for years, a constant reminder to the planet's inhabitants of the war that almost destroyed their world. Though he has been dormant for a long time, Captain Cannonball, Scorponok, and the pirate crew of the Star Seekers have arrived to change that. Hoping to use Unicron's insatiable hunger to drain Cybertron of Energon, the pirates may have underestimated the chaosbringer's own ambitions!
