Well, this comes as no surprise. With just few days left to finish Year 2014, Box-Office Mojo has announced that Transformers: Age Of Extinction is the Highest Grossing Movie Of 2014.
AOE achieved this with a worldwide gross of nearly $1.1 Billion. Second place winner is Guardians of the Galaxy which is closely followed by Maleficent. Guardian has this to say: "Transformers: Age of Extinction has been named the highest-grossing film of 2014, thanks largely to huge success in China. The fourth instalment in Michael Bay’s divisive, sci-fi saga took $1.087bn (£690m) around the world. More than $300m came from China, where the film overtook Avatar in July to become the highest-grossing movie of all time. Bay shot Age of Extinction in Hong Kong and hired Chinese stars such as Li Bingbing for supporting roles, thereby helping to encourage local interest." Director Michael Bay has also been announced as the "Producer Of The Year", following the success of Transformers: Age Of Extinction and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. |

Long time friend of the site TheSpacebridge has shared an exceptionally cool slice of Transformers lore with us. This 20 minute video is a digitization of a VHS promo for the 1986 Transformers the Movie. The video features a recap of the story so far in Japan, with openings for each Japanese show and toy commercials for each. It also includes the American trailer for the animated movie, and the promo reel made with test footage, which features an alternate cut of Autobot City transforming into battle mode, as well as Ultra Magnus in his Diaclone "Powered Convoy" colors.
While this footage all exists online, we thought it worthy of sharing with you as the quality is exceptionally good. Check it out embedded below: |

he next DeNA Transformers: Legends event; Orion's Gambit is now live.
ORION PAX is ordered by ZETA PRIME to escort two DECEPTICON captives to a prisoner exchange. Unarmed, but thankfully accompanied by ALPHA TRION and NIGHTBEAT, the young AUTOBOT transports RACK’N’RUIN through the Rust Spot, when they are attacked by native beasts known as Slicers. The group is able to drive back the Slicers, and soon make it to their destination. At the rendezvous point, the AUTOBOTS are met by BLUDGEON, who leads them to the DECEPTICONS’ base. As the exchange begins, ORION PAX and his allies are ambushed by their DECEPTICON hosts, and ALPHA TRION is taken hostage. Despite overwhelming odds and being unarmed, ORION PAX and NIGHTBEAT begin to fight back, intent on retrieving their elderly friend. Much to the DECEPTICONS’ surprise, ORION PAX releases a hidden cache of weapons from within his trailer, and the AUTOBOTS gain the advantage. Will the AUTOBOTS be able to rescue ALPHA TRION? Will BLUDGEON and the DECEPTICONS succeed in their sinister plans for the AUTOBOT elder? Find out on TRANSFORMERS Legends: “Orion’s Gambit”! You can checkout the available Cards, after the jump. |

Next January, a new animated series based on Q-Transformers will make its debut in Japan. Titled "Mystery Of Convoy", the series will tie-in with the mobile game of the same name.
"Mystery Of Convoy" was originally a 1986 Famicom game which was very difficult to beat and was even reviewed by James Rolfe; the Angry Video Game Nerd. The game will return as a mobile game with the characters replaced by the figures of the Q-Transformers series. A promo containing the Opening Credits of the new series has made its way online thanks to walruslaw. You can download and play Q-Transformers: Kaetekita Convoy no Nazo (Q-Transformers: The Return of the Mystery of Optimus Prime) on Android and iOS. |

A late Christmas present for those of us winding down from the festive day, the Transformers Collector's Club tweeted earlier today in hand images of two figures from the upcoming Transformers Subscription Service 3.0! The TCC mentioned that these are samples and may see some minor tweaks for the final product. For now, enjoy a good look at Carzap (which will come with the Kreon G.B. Blackrock and gas station / laser weapon mini playset) as well as Krok and Gatoraider!
The first figures from the TFSS 3.0 line will hopefully start shipping spring 2015. Merry Christmas TFW! |

With the recent release of MP-22 Masterpiece Ultra Magnus, TakaraTomy has updated its YouTuble channel with a stop-motion animated video of this new figure! Not only does it showcase the elaborate transformation, but the interactivity of it and the other cars as well! While Prowl, Lambor, Wheeljack and Smokescreen are showcased as they are carried by Ultra Magnus in car carrier mode, Convoy is shown as well featuring its ability to carry Cybertrons as well carrying Streak. The recently released Bumble is also present, joining the rest of the Cybertrons in the lineup as they all speed alongside each other. TakaraTomy does a great job of showcasing the line of Masterpiece Cybertrons and the intent for them to interact with each other. Check it out for yourself!

This assortment brings on the combiners with Aerialbots Skydive, Alpha Bravo, and Firefly, plus Stunticon Dragstrip. These are fantastic toys, and well worth checking out - so here's hoping they make it through to stores so everyone gets a chance to see what the excitement is all about. The Deluxes were spotted in a Target store in White Marsh in D.C. and Maryland! Happy hunting, everyone! |

Dairycon have revealed the first of their 2015 exclusives - Windbreaker! Windbreaker is inspired by the infamously named Generation 2 character, and is realised here as a redeco of Generation 1 Windcharger. You might comment on how the deco is not that of the Generation 2 guy - that is in fact because this exclusive is an interpretation of how Windbreaker might have looked were he released in Generation 1 (because, as you might know, Generation 2 was a line that changed up a whole lot of decos).
Windbreaker is the Dairycon 2015 pre-registration exclusive - find out more about the convention and pre-register for this year's Dairycon, taking place over the weekend of March 27th and 28th, 2015 at the Retlaw Hotel in Fond du Lac, Wisconsen, at the Dairycon 2015 homepage! |

Amazon UK has posted a new entry for the Transformers franchise. What's so unusual about it is the name. Titled "Transformers: Rescue Bots in Disguise", this is a Jigsaw Puzzle & Model Set.
The name can lead us to many speculations including a possible crossover between the robots of Transformers: Rescue Bots and Transformers: Robots In Disguise. The product is published by Autumn Publishing under the license from Hasbro and is set to release in May 2015. Similar publications can be found in their official website. |

Marketed as a Masterpiece grade version of the Autobot with the invisibility powers, these images show an early grey resin prototype of the Autobot - does he make the grade for you? The Combiner Wars Deluxes have arrived in the USA - so now seemed like a great time to share a gallery of another one of these awesome toys with you. Today it is the turn of Decepticon Dragstrip, the first Stunticon in the Combiner Wars lineup.
Dragstrip retains his classic F1 look, though with a few changes to the Generation 1 design - notably, there is no exposed rear engine, which we suspect is to help with the rumored Mirage retool of this mold. That being said, the robot mode is spot on for Dragstrip, and has a fair bit of personality. As with the Aerialbots, Dragstrip sports a great range of poseability, and we also like how the foot / fist can mount on the shoulder as a shield, which together with the sword and alternate mode makes us think of the Autobot Blacker from Transformers Victory. Dragstrip is another hit for the line. His poseability lets his strike some excellent sword-fighting poses and he captures the look of the character. Check out his gallery and see what you think: Generations Combiner Wars Dragstrip Gallery |

These figures are small 2" PVC figures, sold in blind bag sets or by the case. We get a good mix of new RID characters as well as some Generation 1 style thrown in (especially that Cliffjumper!). Make the jump to see the full set of figures and let us know if you're getting any!

French Entertainment News Website "Addicted To The Series" has announced that Canal J; A TV Network dedicated to children’s programming in France will debut Transformers: Robots In Disguise in February 2015.
The site was pretty reliable in the past when it comes to cartoon release news in France. Previously, it was announced that Cartoon Network and Canal J will debut the new Transformers series in the future. Canal J also broadcasted Transformers: Animated and Transformers: Prime and broadcasts Hasbro Studio shows for France. |

Fan-favorite Transformers comic writer James Roberts, scribe of the much-beloved Transformers: More than Meets the Eye series, has posted a few teasers on his Twitter about what is in store for us in 2015, including characters such as the DJD, Deathsaurus (AKA Deszaras), more female Transformers, and more!
"We've got some BIG stories coming up in 2015. The DJD! The Scavengers! More female TFs! Fort Max! Thunderclash! Deathsaurus!" In addition, when questioned about the possible inclusion of Impactor, Springer, and Sixshot, Roberts cryptically answered with this response: "I can't list *everyone*, can I? :-)" Does this mean these characters may have a shot at appearing as well? Sound off on what you think after the jump! |

Via Weibo we have a look at a new offering from Art Storm. They are doing a Masterforce God Ginrai (aka Apex Armor Powermaster Optimus Prime) as a part of their EX Gokin line. This is a very stylised take on Ginrai, featuring a sharp look and an additional katana sword, which the original never used.
According to the source, there will be more to show (and Art Storm EX Gokins will be available for sale) at the Winter Wonder Festival 2015 on 8 February. |
