Following their trend this season of testing TV and movie myths, the Discovery Channel show Mythbusters will be tackling the Transformers in an upcoming episode on Saturday, February 7, 2015 at 9:00 p.m. EST
Episode summary: Myths tested: Can a car be changed into a motorcycle? and Adam and Jamie attempt the mechanical metamorphosis of a car becoming a motorcycle and a bicycle becoming a boat. I just hope that Jaime and Adam don't resort to their normal routine of just blowing up stuff at the end of the episode. I'd hate to see them take out their frustrations with mass shifting on an innocent Transformers figure. Discuss on the boards what these crazy guys have in store for the Transformers. |

We've not got a US release date for the new Transformers cartoon, Robots in Disguise, yet, but we do have an air date for the show in the UK and the date is March 7, 2015!
Like in the US, Robots in Disguise will air on Cartoon Network, and according to Toonzone, a press release sent out by Cartoon Network UK gives the premiere date as March 7, 2015. The show will be airing weekends, at 10:30am and 6:30pm UK time. It remains to be seen if this also carries over to the US. In related news, Starblight.de reports that Robots in Disguise will be airing on Nickolodean in Germany in March, though the exact date of airing has yet to be confirmed. |

Comics Alliance had the opportunity to sit down with Transformers: Windblade writer Mairghread Scott for an interview about the upcoming Combiner Wars comic storyline.
As always, if you want to remain completely surprised and spoiler free, be safe and skip the rest. The interview dives into the background of Windblade and her mini-series comic, her tie-in to the Combiner Wars, as well as what lies ahead for the popular fan created character. We've already received confirmation about Windblade's future, but for even more reassurance Scott once again confirmed what we all want to hear: Comics Alliance: What plans do you have for her going forward? Is it right to say that the book will be continuing onwards as a series, even after “Combiner Wars” wraps up? Mairghread Scott: It is absolutely right to say. Transformers: Windblade will not only continue after “Combiner Wars,” it will be dealing with the events of “Combiner Wars” for a long time. As far as plans go, I have way more plans than I should, for a lot of characters. Almost none of them are nice though. The Combiner Wars will start in March, who's ready to find out what Scott is hinting at? Make the jump to discuss your thoughts! |

A new update is available for the Transformers: Robots In Disguise Mobile Game. This update brings several new features including a sneak peek at the upcoming Comic Book and New Characters from the show.
We've noticed that the update is not available for every country yet and is not available for certain devices as well; indicating a staged rollout. Lots of design features are added, with better performance and shorter loading times. Warning! Unfortunately after updating, the game progress goes back to the beginning and this is something you need to watch out for. Cutscenes are added before and after missions so that there is a storyline going on, instead of just going from one mission to another. So, people who are highly sensitive for Spoilers should avoid playing. The official update description: ***Transmission From Cybertron***
You can grab the game from the following locations: Android: Google Play Store iOS: iTunes Store |

Wrapping up our photo gallery coverage of the first waves of the Combiner Wars, we're taking a look at the big bot himself, Optimus Prime! Combiner Wars Optimus Prime is a Voyager Class version of the Autobot commander with inspirations from the current IDW comics design (as well as taking cues from Transformers Energon Optimus Prime and maybe even the Powermaster Optimus Prime / Ginrai).
Optimus Prime is very much a toy. He's big and chunky, and has that certain "larger than life" feel to him - the kind of feel the Autobot commander usually gets in fiction. Poseability is good, and you can squeeze a bit more lateral arm movement out of the toy by unclipping the shoulders in robot mode. Optimus has two blasters, one based on the iconic Ion Blaster, which combine into a larger weapon that looks good held in two hands, or held by the gigantic Ultra Prime combination. Ultra Prime is a cool extra for the toy. There's some great points on it, such as Optimus' hands providing 5mm sockets for shoulder mounting weapons, as well as the chest details featuring a very Transformers Energon looking Matrix. On the less pleasing side, the legs are a bit awkward thanks to the way they transform, and while there's scope to adjust them to suit your taste, they are the weakest point on the design. Overall Optimus is a cool design and worth checking out, either as himself or as one of his upcoming redecos / retools including Stunticon Motormaster. For now though, please enjoy our gallery at the link below: Combiner Wars Voyager Optimus Prime |

TFW2005 member Samsunghk has very kindly shared with us some images of the upcoming Kre-O Transformers Battlechanger Soundwave. this Soundwave takes a cue from his Transformers Prime or Transformers Cybertron incarnation and turns into a jet - and what some of you may be greatly pleased by is the revelation that this Soundwave even includes little Kre-O versions of Ravage, Laserbeak, Rumble and Frenzy!
He's in a two-pack with Ratchet, and should be released in the coming weeks. |

Some more concept art from the late Transformers Universe MOTA game has been posted online. Concept artist Oliver Miles has posted some vehicle mode designs - including Bumblebee and Hound - on his Artstation account, while his 3D Artist Portfolio has some robot mode designs, including Brawl, Cameo, Drive-By, Frontline, Anomaly, Conduit, Monsoon.
Artist Sam Beattie meanwhile has only posted one piece but it is a good one - it's Adhoc, and Autobot helicopter from the planned expansion of the game to add flying Transformers, which was ultimately scuppered by the game's closure. |

Even more rumors have arrived! TFW2005 boards member Mr. Chaos reports that his friend had gone digging through a list of items in the product information database at his store (a large supercenter), and came across some new Generations Combiner Wars figure names.
First off, it appears as though we will be getting a Voyager Cyclonus! It seems he will be the wave-mate of Protectobot Hot Spot, as both have similar coding (Hot Spot is B2397, and Cyclonus is B2398), and are one digit off in UPC (Hot Spot is 63050929832, and Cyclonus is 63050929833). Secondly, the previously-reported white Voyager Optimus Prime redeco will be named Optimus Maximus, and will be in wave 4 (his code is B2727, with the UPC 63050932502). Mr. Chaos also reports having the UPCs for some of the upcoming Deluxe and Legends figures, though it is nothing that we haven't heard of before. The wave 3 Deluxes will consist of the Protectobots. Their codes and UPCs are as follows: Blades - B2393, UPC 63050929828 Streetwise - B2394, UPC 63050929829 First Aid - B2395, UPC 63050929830 Rook - B2396, UPC 63050929831 Wave 4 will be the Autobot "Masquerade homage" figures - those being Sunstreaker, Ironhide, Prowl, and Mirage. While we have no definite word on wave numbers, Legends Blackjack, Huffer, Groove, Warpath, Viper, Rodimus, and Skywarp are also coming up. Start getting prepared for New York Toy Fair, as it looks like we'll be seeing a lot of stuff there. |
