I might be willing to check out the figures, but my local Walmart (the only retailer I have within a 45 minute drive) opted not to carry these (or GI Joe for that matter).
So it probably be whether I want to buy them or not, but a fact they aren't available and nothing I've seen makes them appear to be worth the cost of ordering them online. |

yeah, as far as the figures I'm with the "looks interesting, but not for the price" camp - especially with the sculpt/articulation problems.
maybe if someone paints them up in the more colorful "classic Tron" style I will be more interested. I think the Hot Wheels-style lightcycle track looks the coolest, but I want to wait until there are more sets available to link up before I get any. I took a blue marker to the white on my Sam figure and it looks way better.

I haven't seen any 7 inch figures yet. Just the 3 3/4 at my local Walmart.

This is really ironic if you go back and read my original post above, but I broke down tonight and picked up the 3 3/4-inch Rinzler and Clu figures while I was out. I was gently repositioning the Clu figure since he was a little distorted the way he was positioned in the package and guess what? His head snapped right off. I'm planning on running out to Toys 'R Us tomorrow where the 3 3/4-inch line is supposed to be $7.99. Hopefully the rest of the lot won't fall apart on me. At least the paint app was decent on this one and Krazy glue seems to work. Rinzler is a pretty cool figure though. I'm not touching his head.
To round out my rambling on the line, I've got a shelf set up with my vintage stuff on the right and I'm setting up the new stuff as a mirror image on the left. My plan is to pick up two more of the 3 3/4-inch figures (I'm not getting Kevin and Sam Flynn -- I think they both look pretty poor quality-wise), the two modern light cycles and probably the light runner. I may try to wait until the vehicles go on clearance though. I already have the new white light cycle which I'm really pleased with so I think in the end this should be a pretty decent little Tron collection when I'm done. I just want to know when I'm getting a 3 3/4-inch scale Recognizer Last edited by mj3141x; 11-12-2010 at 08:37 PM.. |
