Home Bargins sounds a bit like TK Maxx, I've managed to pick up some bargins in there as well, XO:Wolverine and Thor figures come to mind.

My two local Asda's are devoid of MU completely, and only one has Avengers figures...

Mine has avengers figures and the local Tesco has new Spidey figures; but the price tags on those feckers', £8.97, is getting ridiculous

I know what you mean about the prices.

It's funny how the articulation and accessories are getting worse to save on costs, but the prices keep rising anyway...

My Tescos/Asdas/Entertainers have wave 1 of the Avengers. Wave 2 (as in the 'Movie' wave) seems to really be struggling to come out, despite the film having been out for several weeks now. It's this kind of thing that makes toy lines fail over here.

I just bitch whenever I post on here! Why am I like this?!

ive been hitting up local comic stores, friends, amazon, tesco and Forbidden Planet for my MU's.Prices are up and down,i could pay 13 quid for a figure one day,and then walk into tesco and find ironman2 figures going for 1 pound each on another day.also been trading my ML's for MU's.But im kind of pissed that Hasbro choose to release certain figures and set's only in the states, like Loki and the frost giant were Walmart exclusives only.almost impossible to get outside of america
Come on Hasbro,where's the love???

I can think of at least 3 Home Bargains within spitting distance of where I'm typing this. I nabbed most of my TF Animated from them.

As for prices, try Worlds Apart Liverpool. No standard pricing - WWH can be £5, but Spider Woman is £6.

Go figure. Ahem.

I don't think it's so much Hasbro, but the retailers simply not wanting to stock the figures. They've been burned to many times with peg warming multiples of the same character and the Green Lantern movie figures (which can go in a category of their own). My belief is that it's the retailer's fault to begin with, as their attitude stems from not wanting to stock these figures unless they are mainly characters that they have heard of (hence producing multiple variations of the same character) and that they actually DO something (hence the gimmicky accessories) because in their mind, kids won't want to buy the toys unless they are the main character and it does something. That being their third mistake, that kids are the only ones who buy these things.

No probs. I'm actually underestimating the prices. WA charge £10 and upwards for most figures. O_O

Kapow Comic Con was great, not so much on the toy side but hanging out with Joe Quesada and Mark Millar in a pub is a pretty unique experience!
I managed to grab a MU Sentinel for £50 from a Toys and Gamez stand but toys were not well represented. The majority of stuff was wave 1 and 2 of Marvel Legends. The most novel toys I saw were the Avengers mini muggs (rad!) and some Legends scale WalMart exclusives of Thor, Loki and Ultimate WW2 Captain America.

My local forbidden planet order items using a system called "Blind Box" they basically blind order, like a mystery box they dont know what is arriving, its crazy but that's how they operate.so maybe some of the larger retailers operate using the same method?all i can say is when it comes to marvel figures they are hugely popular in my area and sell rather quickly, the exclusive releases are mass released state side but dont get sold over here.i think that deal stems to hasbro.shelf warmers i see are usually because of horrible pricing,Forbidden planet being a main offender there.Tesco usually come to their senses after awhile and drop the prices

As far as Exclusives go sometimes you can get lucky as ASDA = WALMART and Sainsburys = Target.

Ive found stuff at Sainsburys with the Target exclusive sticker on it lol

I don't collect Joes anymore but I snagged a Snake Eyes Target exclusive - with bike - from Home and Bargain a while back.

All hail Home and Bargain!

That's interesting, it sounds like the cases that BBT store get where you have the latest wave plus a few older releases. But the FP aren't really the problem, as they cater for the collectors more then the general public and children, and are more expensive because of it. The ones I was mainly referring to are the high street shops.

My FP's politics are the other way around, they cater for the kids and Hot toys collectors,as an ML and MU collector they have let me down time and time again but i cant knock some of the supermarkets they have saved me a lot of money by way of MU's.i was pestering FP for over a year to re-order Fantastic four box set, ended up getting it at the con in London over the weekend.

My problem with the Glasgow FP is that the guys that work there aren't into MU. If you want to discuss the latest Batman or Spidey or whatever, they're all the help in the world, but not for something they have no interest in

If they're anything like the London Forbidden Planet staff, there'll be two or three genuinely nice people, who try to help as best they can. The rest will consider any question you ask as an interruption to their life, and will try to get rid of you as fast as possible.

I had a interesting conversation with a guy in there one day, about MU & Avengers figures and whether Hasbro has made the Avengers figures of lesser quality just to rush as many as possible onto shelves to make money or fill the demand and the odd distribution of wave 2. Another guy tried to start up a discussion on the G I Joe Comics and upcoming movie, but I was on the way to a night shift and couldn't stop.

But I heard two staff members openly talking about the 'reveal' at the end of the Avengers film, and sarcastically saying 'not so loud some people might not have seen it yet!". This was on the opening weekend. I thought that was pretty uncalled for.

Just scored 2 movie series War Machines in TRU Liverpool. They had a selection of other IM suits, plus Whiplash and the Army/Air Drones. £4.99 a pop.

Non-Marvel, they had loads of DKR including the Bat.

Just contacted Star Action Figures, one of go to UK stockists for MU, and they've said they expect Wave 18 in August, although there's still no confirmation what this wave will contain. I've got a horrible feeling a wave of announced stuff is going to get dropped and will end up the holy grail of collecting!

I really dislike FP, I have been buying toys and comics for over 30 years and now collect action figures with my daughter (she has an Extensive SHS, JLU,TFA, TMNT etc. collection well in excess of 1000 units which is not bad for a 7 year old) but going into FP is just a waste of time as everything is marked up and the actual range is poor unless you want £200 statues or weapon replicas and various movie props.

Don't even get me started on trying to get a straight answer or the snide attitude you get if you walk in with a coffee, I think some of the staff in the london store only work there for the geek chic image or so they can play high and mighty with the shoppers

oh and i dont know if any one has mentioned it,but if you guys have a Disney store in your area you should check them out for MU's mine is stocking the skaar wave and Modern Thor wave.

The manners of the staff in my local FPI store leave a lot to be desired, though. But their Manchester counterparts seemed nice enough.

First hi all. My TrU has taken down all the Marvel Universe they had and replaced them with the million cases of wave 1 Avengers. I didn't want much from the Avengers line anyway and now I'm hanging on to try and pick up a movie Hawkeye and Black Widow.
