Came across this: Avengers S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier - Smyths Toys
Worth checking out if you've got a Smyths near you! It's no longer available to purchase online. I went to my Smyths this morning, nothing doing sadly. The shelf price said £39.99 so perhaps it's a mistake, although I'm sure there's a law saying they have to sell at the advertised price. I did however pick a couple of things up: Not a bad price for a Quinjet!

Either way, I'd be surprised if too many stores have got any left in stock!

For anyone who has the Jet. Does it come with a stand or anything?

If you were going for a midlfight pose then these stands are really good: FlightPose - Adjustable Display Stand for Model Aircraft and Collectibles (although I got mine from Hobby Link Japan), there's also a clip on the side of the jet that you can attach a flying figure to (such as Iron Man). There's also a hatch at the back so you could also make it look like another is dropping out.
(Having typed all that out I think I've talked myself into displaying mine like that!!!)

try fishing tackle and wall hooks, some of the US collectors use it for their aircraft displays, and you can get really tough tackle that wont snap easily, its an alternative if you cant find flight stands.

There's a sculpted seat just big enough for a regular figure.

I was looking at the Smyths website this morning and saw the helicarrier listed at £9.99. I stopped by my nearest store later and they had two left on the shelf at the advertised price. I thought it would be worth a tenner so I picked one up. I also decided to go for the Quinjet at £18.99 to give my Black Widow something to fly.
Yesterday in Forbidden Planet I saw some Amazing Spider-Man Legends sized figures for £7.99 each. I bought the main Spider-Man and he's a pretty good figure and worth that price. |

Busy boy, but in other ways haha. The last fig I got was the Juggernaut I traded you that Doom for. Between Uni, Work and seeing a couple of girls I haven't had the time lad. Looking to splurge out and get a few though and I'd rather help the UK and Irish lads out before the yanks

(Having typed all that out I think I've talked myself into displaying mine like that!!!) The Sun was also giving a £5 off voucher the other day so I will use that. Update: that link was charging $51 for delivery so I'm looking elsewhere but thanks for the spark! Last edited by JDSlater; 03-31-2013 at 02:45 AM.. |
