Mini review for the Amazing Spidey villains.
Venom is disappointing. From the torso up he's fine, great sculpting, good paint (a navy wash instead of that sky blue they keep using on black costumes). From the waist down it's worse than the first 3.75" Venom. Hardly any movement in the hips, knees are worthless because he's top heavy and can never balance unless you keep his legs straight. Accessory is garbage (a *mechanical* biting symbiote head??) and wont even stay on his arm. Green Goblin on the other hand is pretty great, and will probably replace MU gobby in my display. Mine has wonky eyes which I couldn't see until I opened him, which is annoying. He can *almost* cross his arms! His glider has slightly articulated wings and pegs for his feet so he doesn't keep falling off of it. Good range of movement in his joints. Really needs better hips, wrist swivels and at least a waist swivel, but I'm pretty impressed.

I saw the Venom in my local toys r us earlier, its a weird one because the spidey stuff has twice the space of the avengers toys but only have the volume of units.
They had these weird transforming spidey robots from the new movie, My wife took my daughter in there today to get some toys after going to see Avengers and they left empty handed as they just had nothing worth buying. She did get a few Marvel outfits for her Bear from Build a bear though (she got Cap, Hulk, Iron man and spidey Outfits) so while she did not get any action figures it was not a wasted trip. |

Thanks for the pictures PW!! Do like the look of that Green Goblin,do you think sawing him off at the waist, and switching in the MU/waist and legs would be worth doing to improve his lower articulation?? Love the new glider, the hinged wings are a great idea,is the head a pop-out feature??

I need to check and see if the foot pegs on the glider will work with the MU version. But I think the ball jointed knees are what make him stand on it so well. The head of the Glider is a missile, that's it fully loaded. It does stick out a fair way, I'm thinking of cutting the missile in half and gluing it in place. If you push the missile button the wings flap, they don't pivot much at the hinge but it's enough to make sure the foot pegs match up properly. Just realised I forgot to take pics of Venom's useless accessory... |

Here we go.
I actually got him to hold it!! He's leaning backwards so much he can't see what he's attacking, but still!! Still have no idea why its mechanical though... |

Yo I dont think none of you guys is from near manchester, but the ForbiddenPlanet there has urrrvrything. They have pure MU. I think 9 pegs each peg 4 figures deep. They have the avengers and Xforce team packs. many CP's. They also have like 12 pegs of the marvel legends figures. And a whole lot of marvel select. Good ones to. I got the DD/BE comic pack aswell as the sinister and thanos from there just a month ago. They also have the old dark phoenix and Cyclops CP peg warming. Just thought id let Ya'll know.

I don't want to give FP a tenner per fig, it just seems "too much"; In the Glasgow one, I never seem to be able to move anything, there is too much crammed in at the MU section

proteus and panthro. If you go to afflecks and follow the main road up the side. There should be a vans shop and a marijuana parafinalia store running horizontal on the other side of the road. When you get to the crossing at the end take a left and its just up the road next to the carhart shop. It massive dude, like two floors full of shit. Hope you find it. And dont be stealing all the good toys. (lol)

Me? Steal the good toys? Never. EDIT: In other news, payday saw me go out on the hunt... And come back with movie Amazing Spiderman Spidey and Lizard from my local Entertainer... They also had a number of Spidey variants and a 6 inch Web Attack(?) one similar to the Avengers Mighty Battlers as well as 1 Spiderman Transformers-esque thing, some Go Karts and a Spidey helmet. So what Avengers figures has everyone got? I've seen W2 in Forbidden Planet but no where else yet. Anyone seen an unmasked Cap America?

Picked up the new Venom from Glasgow TRU, he looks decent in package so forked over the 8.99 for it. Some of the new spideys in that line aren't too bad; if I were more of a spidey fan (and could afford them at 8.99 a pop) I'd buy a few

I must admit that I wasn't really impressed with the Spideys. Doc Ock looks ace - shame he doesn't have a stand.

If you're into spidey, they're more appealing I'd imagine. Wasn't keen on Doc Ock or Green Goblin in person. When will we get decent spidey villains that are comparable in awesomeness to that Fearsome Foes boxset a few years ago?
