Jin Saotome a memeber of toyark and marvelousnews
points us in the direction of an eBay auction for the as-of-yet unreleased Phoenix 5 Cyclops 6" Marvel Legends figure that was originally supposed to be released in Hasbro's Wolverine line as a swap figure. I am not sure where the seller got the figure but before you think about bidding on this one, keep in mind it's very possible sometime down the road Hasbro could end up releasing it. Despite what the seller says in the description, Hasbro has never said this figure will never be released. On the flip-side of course it is always possible it may not be released, we just don't know. Unreleased Marvel Legends Phoenix Five Cyclops Official Figure Sample Hasbro | eBay source Credit goes to Jin Saotome I basically re-posted - for images click the link for the auction Last edited by warmachine6; 03-27-2014 at 12:49 PM.. |

I saw this the other day - $320.00 with 6 days remaining in the auction!(At the time) Lol. I suppose to a select few people that 4 or 5 C-notes is worth this, but all I can say it that it's very amusing to watch

Looks awful, from a costume design and a toy standpoint. I mean, look at where his feet connect to his shins! his shoes have a leathery texture, then you get to the shins and BAM! smooth as a baby's butt. Really shows that Hasbro can't be bothered with the little things.

WOW!!! Waited for this one for 9 months to find out it got cancelled. If i can get it for under $500 im seriously considering it. Then Id get the head and chestpiece professionally molded, then outfit them on black bucky cap mold bodies and sell them to any and everyone who wanted this in the first place. Id easily pay $100 for a non hasboro reproduction based off original and Im pretty sure at least 5 other people would to so i could make my money back. Whoever wins this(if not me) think about doing that. My city, Cleveland has a free 3d printer that is run by pro's and anyone can use. cost is rediculously cheap. idk why no one has done this before, pretty sure alot of the "unreleased" ship from philiapense or china and are made out of existing parts taken from the hasboro factory.

I can't believe we got a crappy All New X-Men set instead of a Phoenix Five.
I love the All New X-Men comics but Jesus Christ those figures suck. This is a very cool figure though, not worth what whoever is paying that much, but very cool prototype. Look at that butt. THAT...IS A TIGHT BUTT!

From everything I've been able to get out of my contacts, this figure is not going to be released. It's the only reason I've bid this high at this point, and I'm contemplating whether or not I should take this to 1000 or give up at 750. It has the potential to be on par with the bi-beast/red king production level figures that were never released.

You may be a madman, and I wish I had your disposable income, but I still respect you!

what do bi beast and red king generally go for? and I'd say from a collectors point of view Cyclopes will be more desirable long term as he's a main character.

I'm a madman because I climb dangerous mountains in the middle of nowhere by myself. I'm not a madman because I make calculated decisions about action figure purchases based on the market versus availability. I've spent about 3000 dollars on various prototypes this year, and nearly everyone of them can be sold for a profit. Not that I plan on selling them, but they are collectible investments that I could liquidate at any time if I have a family emergency. They are not as liquid as stocks or bonds, but I'm much more of an art investment person where I can enjoy what I have, than a stock bond type of investor. It's not money thrown away that I cannot get back.
As others have said before. You can easily buy this figure, get it molded and sell ten unpainted copies for 100 a piece and make your money back. I wouldn't be doing that, but any of you easily could. It's just a matter of assuming the risk that these won't be produced. What the bids are showing me is that there are others out there who've done their homework asking people behind the scenes before they put those bids down. |

They are both over the 1000 mark easily at this point. But I haven't seen one up on ebay recently. The Silver Luke Cage and Crimson Dawn Psylocke auction that went for almost $15k really has me at a loss as to where the market is right now. I used to say I wouldn't sell my Blue Wasp for anything less than 10k as a joke, but if it's really at that level, I need to up the joke money because at 7k a piece for Luke Cage and Psylocke, 10k is not that far off for Wasp.

$1238 is not a bad price if this thing is truly canceled for good. With joecon coming up next weekend, I just couldn't bid more than $1000.

Since the line is still going it's too early to say it will never be released. I doubt it will be but who knows what the next couple of years holds for Con exclusives.

Such a shame this wont be made. Before a Few weeks ago Thought chestpiece was molded to figure. Finding out that its not just hurts more. All they had to do was plop out the heads and separate chest pieces and slap them on existing molds. I mean its a Xmen figure, were used to second class scrap heap xmen figures anyway. Worse when i see Ultimate Beetle! Really you wasted a sculpt on a character NOBODY cares about at all. Boomerang too, although i Got it do to the simililarity to p5 cyke.
