Just watch, Shaggyman is going to be included in an epic future DC issue where his character is immortalized as the saviour of the known universe or becomes some symbolic martyr and they'll release his figure anyway. Just look at Black Goliath. A relatively obscure character who got his own Gigantic Battles pack for being a guy who got a hole punched through his chest by Ragnarok in the Civil War. They dedicated a LOT of plastic to this guy and before Civil War, hardly anybody gave a damn about him.

Sinestro went from being a really obscure nobody GL villain, to one of the premier villains around, thanks to his Sinestro Corps. Age of Apocalypse took Blink from being a really obscure dead Gen X member to a long running fan favorite. GLA took Squirrel Girl and allowed everyone to see that she is the most epic comic character in existance. (DC wishes they had her. She'd have stopped the Blackest Night with only her Nutsack and her faithful companion, Tippy-toe.) If they did that to Shaggyman, that would be the bomb.

Me and my bro both wanted Rocket Red, but it's not like I'm hating the fact that we're getting Metron. Though I'm just afraid of it being the same old "we've seen that already" figure simply paired with a larger than normal accessory - which would be the chair of course. But I'm assuming it'll be somewhat imposing on a shelf nonetheless. Also from what I've read, (for a while) the Horsemen all seemed anxious as all heck to be able to do a Metron w/Mobius Chair figure. So I can see why he was included in the poll. |

Well, that's lucky for you then, since only the subscribers get Metron. Oversized figures are still available to the general public - again, aside from Metron.

Going back the the whole "should we or shouldn't we subscribe" discussion we were all having a few weeks ago. . .now that Metron has been revealed as the winner of the poll, does this change your decision about subscribing? Either you subscribed and now wish that you didn't, or you didn't and now wish you did.
Personally, this pushes me toward wishing I had subscribed, but still not fully convinced. I'd like Metron, but I can live without him. I really need the Poison Ivy, kinda need Jay Garrick. But at least now I have interest in more than half of the figures revealed to be in the subscription. It was 50/50, now 60/40. |

Well, I'm honestly 100% fine with all of 'em - I'm not picky or anything. Don't know what's so repelling about Starman to everyone, but I find him neat looking (to each his/her own I guess). I'd love Jay Garrick and Poison Ivy. Atrocitus is my preferred of course and Metron - I'm okay with. Again, I'd have liked Rocket Red. I was under the impression that we hardly have any JLI guys - or am I wrong.

We've got Guy Gardner, Batman, Martian Manhunter, Captain Marvel, Booster Gold, Blue Beetle, Mr Miracle, Big Barda... And from the I can't believe it's not Justice League days, we have white costume Mary Marvel. Those are just off hand memory. As for the five revealed figures so far, three I really want, two I don't. That's better than an average wave when I want a BAF.

I did subscribe because DCUC is one of the lines I collect.
I guess Metron won, but I hope they still do Shaggy Man. |

I love the classic Starman figure. It was an easy purchase for me. The newer Starman, I'm not so fond of. He just looked like an ordinary guy with a golden staff. I just didn't appreciate the irony in it. Just like I'm not a huge fan of "uniformed" Superheroes taking the costumes out of Superhero comics. Marvel is notorious for this with modern Dr. Strange, Scarlet Spider in a hoodie, plain clothed Wolverine.
The closest thing I can compare it to is pro wrestling when they started making it "cool" to wear dirty jeans and a T-shirt as your wrestling gear. Last edited by thechris; 09-03-2011 at 02:46 PM.. |

Check out this really sweet 2-part review Scotty Cash did on the DCUC Legion of Superheroes 12-pack for The Pop Culture Network...

Check out this neat site:
Metron's Chair - an open petition for Mattel to add light-up features on Metron's Chair (the DCUC Subscription exclusive) There, you can sign a petition to have Mattel make the DCUC Infinite Earth's exclusive Metron figure come complete with a light-up chair! Who knows, we saved DCUC, maybe Mattel will listen to the fans and really pimp out Metron's ride! Sign it today! |

Who knows, we saved DCUC, maybe Mattel will listen to the fans and really pimp out Metron's ride! Sign it today! I think they pulled that pic of Metron from the Four Horsemen's site, when they were showing the prototypes of the Club Infinite Earth reveals. (They took it down when Mattel didn't announce him at Comic-Con like the 4H thought they would) I'd love a light-up chair so I'll go ahead and sign it - we deserve it! But I don't see any precedence to it (did Superboy's chamber light-up??). Mattel's only implemented this in DCUC packaging so far I believe. |

Someone let me know if they make a DC Universe Red Hood. I don't follow DC as much as I do Marvel.

Seems like we may have some new Batman Legacy 2-packs to choose from in the coming months. Check out the write-up TRU has for their Batman Legacy 2-packs:
Celebrating one of the greatest superheroes of all time, the Legacy 2-Pack action figures takes its inspiration from Batman™ films and the Batman: Arkham City video game. Multiple versions of Batman and legendary villains like The Joker, Catwoman and Ra's Al Ghul are included. Released in three waves, a total of six 2-packs will be available for fall 2011. There is also a rumor circulating that Wave 3 of the Batman Legacy line will consist of 2-packs featuring Batman and Catwoman as well as Batman and Ra's Al Ghul. More info as it develops! Mattel has decided to, once again, open up their 2012 Subscriptions one last time. DC Universe Club Infinite Earths, MOTUC Club Eternia, Voltron Club Lion Force and the all-new MOTUC 30th Anniversary Series will be on sale 9/16-10/3 ONLY.

TheFwoosh recently conducted their latest Ask Matty Q&A session with Mattel, who were kind enough to answer some more questions, allbeit in sparce detail, regarding the future of the DCUC retail line...
Q: When are we going to get some insight to the game plan for DC 6-inch at retail? Hopefully by the time this question is answered we will know the fate of the subscription, but a LOT of fans really need to know what the plan for store shelves is once 2012 hits. A: At NYCC we’ll have more news on the specifics of the DC Universe product at retail in 2012. Q: There seems to be a little confusion about the upcoming, re-branded 6″ retail line. You have said that the character selection will focus not merely on DCnU designs, but on more “mainstream” characters like Superman and Batman. Seeing as how there are a limited number of “mainstream” characters, can we expect the line to explore classic, comic-inspired figures (for example Golden Age Superman or Earth-2 Robin) or is it more likely to venture into things like “scuba attack Batman” and “kryptonite armor Superman”? A: You likely won’t see “Scuba Attack Batman” in the rebranded line. While the line will focus on mainstream characters such as Batman and Superman, think of all of the awesome versions of Batman and Superman in the comics. We can bring those to life in the 2012 retail line. You can read the full Q&A session with Mattel here: http://thefwoosh.com/2011/09/ask-matty-91511 |

Arkam Batman, Silver Age Batman, Michael Keaton Batman, and a few Modern Age Batman. The only ones that really stand out are AzBats, and Sinestro Batman. Superman... there's even less variety. And aside from a Golden Age version, we've pretty much got just about every major costume variation he's been through. "Scuba Attack Batman" and "Kryptonite armor Superman" sound like more fun.

I'm hoping for themed lines, like Green Lantern and Batman Legacy. Superman Legacy would be awsome. Get a General Zod in there, Lex Luthor in suit, Earth-2 Superman, ect. I would love to see that happen honestly.
