It annoys me too, especially since, as I said, Captain Marvel is almost as old as Superman. (And Mary Marvel predates Supergirl, even) Personally, I think it should be a shared copyright, like the term Superheroes. I think they both have equal right to use the name. It's not like they're trying to pass one off as the other's.

Hey, DC Fans! Would've had this posted early Saturday morning, but ended up having to deal with a family emergency and couldn't get near a computer or wireless device to save my life, until today!
There have been some mixed feelings over the reveals of DCIE Captain Marvel Jr. and Grant Morrison's Red Hood at this weekend's NYCC, but certainly everyone will be excited to be adding DCIE Huntress to their shelves in the coming year! That's right, for those that haven't heard, a prototype DCIE Huntress, with her crossbow, was revealed at NYCC 2012 on Saturday morning to very positive reviews! More as this story develops, but it won't be long now before Huntress is finally part of the DCUC line! Note: Although the figure is still in the early prototype stage, she appears to be based off the Jim Lee version featured in the hugely popular 2003 Hush story arc! Thanks to Shane of Shoebox Heroes for sending me the pictures on Saturday! |

I had my heart set on getting the DCUC Poison Ivy from mattycollector.com this morning (after missing out on Black Mask) and was all ready and waiting with the laptop on her page and refreshing every few minutes.
...then...I fell asleep for 10 minutes (I work overnights at a group home on weekends and I was exhausted) ...and after waking up I realized what had happened and panickedly clicked refresh....to see she was SOLD OUT. This past weekend was rough, and I had been looking forward to getting Ivy today so that was just the perfect "kick in the nuts" to cap it off with.... ...So all my friends here on the 'Ark, it would mean so much to me if any of you had bought any extras of Ivy and would be willing to sell me one? (since I'd really love to not have to pay some skeezy scalper on ebay an arm and a leg for her...)

Just on my way out, but I wanted to get this up before I left. Check out this awesome Fwoosh review of DCIE Elasti-Girl, the second over sized figure offered through Mattel's mail away club!
She uses parts from DCUC Wave 8 C&C Giganta and comes complete with a shruken down version of herself! Now all we need is for Mattel to give us Mento and the Chief! Look for both Elasti-Girl and Poison Ivy to be hitting your doorstep this month! Enjoy |

Totally an Xavier body for that chief custom, but nice use of the alternate Starman head, might have to steal that idea.

You are right, that be some Dent body , but I might just use a spare ML Xavier body I have around here somewhere or an extra Black Mask body.

It is probably easier to use one of the Movie Master suited bucks so that you don't have to fight with the head swap. Each of the Professor X figures from the X-Men movie series have a hard that only turns left and right and doesn't "pop" off. |

Here's an easy idea I had for customizers the other say.
ML Movie Prof wheelchair and DCUC Donna Troy would make for a pretty good base, I think, for a potential Oracle custom.

More from this past weekend's NYCC comes to us in the form of the next two figures being offered through Mattel's Club Black Freighter - Nite-Owl and Silk Spectre!
Nite-Owl, who appears to be based off the DCUC Owlman sculpt, will come complete with a grappling hook and some sort of projectile. Based off the Daniel Dreiberg version of the character, Mattel seems to have done an awesome job, similar with Rorschach, capturing the essence of this character as he appeared within the Watchmen comic! Silk Spectre, like Dr. Manhattan, is another story. With poor paintwork, a bad mix of solid and translucent plastics and a sloppy overall display, the figure, based off Laurel Juspeczyk, is a disappointment. However, fans should remember the putty is used in these shots simply for stability purposes and will not be included on the final figure. Now that we've seen 4 of the 6 pieces being offered through this club, I am glad I never signed up. With two good and two not-so-good figures shown thus far, ending up with 50% in good figures is not a number I like. Hopefully the final figures to be revealed, The Comedian and Ozymandias will change my tune. Thanks to Shane, once again, of Shoebox Heroes for snapping and sending me the shots! Enjoy! |

Yeah, I'm glad I passed on the sub. I am not feeling those at all. In fact, Rorschach is the only one I have liked thus far. The proportions on Manhattan seem off, Nite Owl looks lacking (painted on boots and gloves, seriously?), and Sil Spectre looks odd. Both of these two reveals also seem to be missing articulation.
However, why do you think it is a disappointment that they based it off Laurel when she was the main version in the comic?

Sorry about that, it was worded odd. It's like Jetty said, I find the figure itself a disappointment, and not the fact that it was based off Laurel.

& as for the comments regarding the new figures coming out they're all good but I don't know why is there an armored batman figure? that space could be used for a Batman Inc. Bats with DickBats (am I immature if I chuckle at that? lol) as a variant

AFI has some awesome early shots of DCIE Lead, the the third oversized figure for the 2012 subscription program!
Available in December of this year, Lead is build using the C&C Darkseid buck, which may seem too big, but works well considering it was the best option Mattel had. Lead doesn't feature the diecast hands or clip-on accessories of the previous Metal Men, but his tunic is a rubber over piece more like a bib then skirt, allowing the figure to retain all its articulation. DCIE members can expect Lead in their mail box this December, while non-subscribers can get him off MattyCollector.com! |

Damn, he's got a fat head. That back makes him look like he's wearing a cocktail dress.
Good thing he will be going in the back of the case behind the other MM so no one will see. |
