I was rearranging my Animated shelf today and for some reason said "I like Voyager Bulkhead better than Leader Bulkhead" I don't know why I said it out loud, but I was trying to pose Leader Bulk's with hsi legs in somethign other than a static pose and the fatty kept falling over, forcing me to lean him up against a wall. That's not the only reason I like the V better, he's smaller, more fun to play with and TF, damn funny looking, and can fight lugnut. Don't get me wrong, I love them both, but I just liekd the Voyager a little better.
Same thign happened with BB. After fiddling with the Activator for a couple of minutes, I started TFing Deluxe Bumblebee, and then messed around with his stingers and finally placed him in the foreground of my display. I especially liked how his transformation was so cartoony and dramatic, even though the Activator TFs by himself. I love his kiddy porportions with teh big head, slender biceps and thighs, and big, blunt arms and legs. Again, I love both. Anyone agree? Or partially agree? |

I only own the Voyager Bulkhead and Dlx. BB. I decided when I first started collecting the Animated line that I would only get one version of each character that I liked. I decided on Voyager Bulkhead because he's more cartoon accurate and half the price of the leader. As for BB, I don't have much of an interest for Activators (with a couple of exceptions) so I went with deluxe BB.

I too prefer the V. Bulky over the Leader sized one....I even passed on Leader Bulky in favor of the Voyager version.
And yes, I think D.BB rocks too

I have both Leader and dlx Bulkies as well as Activator BB, and the dlx Elite Guard version. I actually detest Bumblebee on the show, and my choices for purchases are primarily character driven, the main reason I bought the Activator, is because I like how the proportions and transformation remind me so much of the G1 Bumblebee. I bought the dlx Elite Guard version because it just looked so good, reminds me a lot of movie Stealth Bumblebee, which is one of my favorite Bumblebee figures.
The Leader Bulkhead is worth getting but I do like the voyager one a little better. It has the wrecking ball gimmick, and the automorph is impressive. Not to mention he can stand on one hand. There is no way that the leader version can pull that off. The leader version has nice weaponry and armor upgrades, I wouldn't be surprised to see him in season 3 considering that the boxart was all new for this figure. I got the leader version because it is distinctly different from the voyager, but I know most people got him simply because he is the biggest Bulkhead available. Ultimately the voyager is more fun to play with in my opinion. Deluxe Bumblebee is a better toy to play with in my opinion, than the Activators version. The Activators version is impressive, a must have even. The deluxe one has an impressive transformation and it's range of motion is excellent. Scale wise, Activators Bumblebee looks better with the other autobots with Leader Bulkhead, but as toys, the bigger Bumblebee and smaller Bulkhead are more to my liking. |

I don't have Leader Bulkhead, not worth the $ IMO. I do love V. Bulkhead because he is really fun, and kinda the first TF to have a very stout, overtly animated look to him. He's just got more personality in V scale for me.
I have both Bees, and Deluxe looks great until you pose him in a group, than his height makes him standout like a sore thumb! His plastic is a bit too pale as well, and screams "cheap"! The Activators, on the other hand, scales nicely with most of the line, and looks like a better quality toy to me. The molded on hands are unfortunate, but overall Act.BB (and all Activators for that matter) is way more fun to play with and pose. I will admit I am total Activator nut though, they sooo rock! (putting my own hand up and bangin' my head in rock smiley fashion since I don't have it to choose from) |
