Just curious why there's not a thread dedicated to the vintage collectors, is there not any interest on this forum for vintage toys?

Most vintage falls into existing categories, for example, Mego Pocket Heroes are 3.75 inch and fall in the relevant DC/Marvel threads. Some others like Remco Universal Monsters have their own thread but only really become active around Halloween. You just have to dig a little.

I think a vintage thread would be a great addition on here. I have been going nuts trying to find pieces of my childhood collection and I don't see a Snailiens thread popping up anytime soon lol.
I think if you want to see more vintage stuff, just start posting and I'm sure others will chime in. I know I would! I wouldn't scour the site looking for somewhat relative threads that have been sitting without an update for years. |

I went to a local toy shop that had just got in some new Turtles, I called and asked if he got them all sorted and he said that the Lion and Elephant were in the assortment, but it would be a little while until they were able to get to them. He threw out some prices (which were far below ebay prices) and said if was cool with the prices he would let me go through the entire bag of figures and accessories. I was pleasantly surprised to find Antrax in the mix and all of them were complete with accessories! Also in the bag were one of each food fighter from wave 1 (no color variants). I told them those are really cool and somewhat valuable, he said I will probably bag them up for $8 each to which I responded he could probably get more for them. Then we found all their backpacks and the majority of their weapons and to me the value of them just skyrocketed, but his response was since I have all ten I will probably just group them together and sell them as a lot for $65. so I got those bad boys for $6.50 each and I'm only missing two guns! I couldn't be happier with that find. |

Wow those are killer scores, I'm with ya on grossery gang figures, they're modern food fighters, I have a few but didn't go overboard on them, especially seeing as there's so many variants, I'm going hunting hopefully Sunday, hope to find some scores like yours.

My flea market pickups for June, sadly the weather has been crap, so slim pickins, each figure was $5 or less, they all need cleaning up but they're going into the collection as place holders or being traded anyways.
The mask vehicle was $10 and the first Mask vehicle I've ever owned, I cant tell you how badly I wanted Mask toys as a kid, growing up dirt poor meant I didnt have much and my neighbor had the entire Mask collection and it used to make me so jealous, well it took 30 years but I finally own one, now I just need to take out a small loan to get the rest.

I just found my original MOTU collection, it's been missing for 20 years or so:
Spydor has all its bits inside the box. Lots of accessories and stuff missing, I know I had Skeletors chest armour.

Oh wow, that's amazing dude, what I'd give to have my childhood collection, I honestly don't even remember which figures I had other than mantenna (and that's just because I have a picture of me holding it as a kid) and you saved the box, very cool.

Thanks. I'm really happy, we've been slowly sorting through everything in the house for the last 18 months and this was literally the last place it could have been. I'd started to think it must have been thrown out by accident.
You can see in the photo Evil-Lyn is missing most of the paint off her tiara, tempted to reptaint it but I don't know if that is the done thing with vintage MOTU or not Found my vintage TMNT too: Missing Krang, Bebop and Rocksteady, and ironically Leonardo who was my favourite so so I kept him on display after I packed my collection away when I was a kid now I have no idea where he is.

Nice stuff Lordbest!
I too am jealous that you actually still own your childhood collection. When I moved out and went to college my Mom crammed all my toys into a closet and the attic of the home she was renting and that I grew up in. Well she ended up moving and literally told me I had a week be to get anything I wanted or else it would be left behind, sadly I lost a huge chunk of my childhood because of that... |

The condition on some of those MOTU figures is really impressive.

Vintage toy thread would be great. Myself, I like the Japanese Vintage toys (vinyl, robots, etc). Especially Bullmark Toy Lines. This would cover a wide group of toys. Lets talk Major Matt Mason. =^)

I had all of the vehicles and the 2 story space station. My parents knew the owner of a local grocery store. They were taking down a plastic 6 tier shampoo display and my mom asked what they were going to do with it. "In the trash." I got a 6 level space base for my station to sit atop of. Had all of the Outer Space Men too. My mom was a professional artist. She took an old metal Sucrets box and made a storage locker for the little weapons. I still have them.
