Looks pretty good, wish there was a pic of the legendary asst. combined. I'm a little split about the pilots being in their jet sleds but ultimately I agree, I don't do anything with tiny figures. Oh wait, are those just the tube rockets they use in to get to the lions in the castle? Are they different from the ones they use to get around planets? I'm not sure.

The pricing for the combining assortment is just right. It's pretty close to the Combiner Wars price scheme, even adding up to the same $100 price point as the CW boxsets. The torso is a bit more expensive than a CW torso bot at $30 instead of $25, but it does come with a bunch of sound effects to justify the increase.

Yeah, when I first saw those pics I was thrown off. The Legendary lions look great, I was like "ok, all in". Then I saw the Voltron and it looked cheap. Didn't realize they were two separate things.
Playmates needs to release a combined Legendary pic so we can see what the upper scale Voltron looks like, and clarify that the kiddie one shown above is NOT the result of the Legendary lions combining. I plan on grabbing the Legendary lions regardless, if it doesn't look cool in Robot mode, I'll keep em kitty style, cuz those look good. |

Not a fan of the lions being sold separately and the final look there looks... weird.

I think I'm in for a set of Legendary lions, but it would be nice to see some promo pics of the combined mode first.

Definitely will get the Red Lion Legendary figure. However I really hope they actually make figures for the pilots. Whether they're in scale or not they would be cool to have.

It's cool how the legendary lions come with the pilots on a sled that's to scale with the lions.

Toyark needs to keep up. This news has been out for days now, maybe even a whole week.

Any word on cost for the Legendary lions? They seem to be the best choice for show accuracy and combining functions.

Also, the combined Voltron will be 16" inches tall, so each Lion should be quite large as well. |

I'm not digging the Popeye arms. I wonder if the red & green Lions' front legs tuck into their bodies, or if they have to be removed for combined mode.

That's not bad. Those are definitely the ones I'll be picking up then. Looks like it has decent articulation in combined mode too.

I just watched the first video review, at least in English, of Bandai Japans/Tamashii Nations Soul of Chogokin Golion and it's incredible the engineering tricks behind the figure. Full spread on lions legs, there's a ball hinge at each shoulder, panels thst open and the close after leg insertion, locks for the black lions front legs that hide and lock the whole body in place. Also die cast for the leg lions legs, strong plastic legs for arm lions, die cast back legs on black lion and lower torso, ball jointed head and just a solid toy. I can't wait to own all 3 Voltron coming out. |

[QUOTE=SPLIT LIP;683251] The combined mode isn't pictured here, this is the combined figure: Well, that's quite a let down:/. I thought the ultra Voltron was the combined one..what a shame. Well, at least I might as well save some money and not buy all the lions.

Ok thank goodness that is the actual combined mode. Looking forward to this wave much more instantly.
$102+ is still a bit steep, but I bet it will be fine, and it displays nicely. |

The legendary Lions have elbows. Knees it's harder to tell(but if not at the yellow and blue lions, they do right above them thanks to how the rear black lion legs are made). It looks like they do, as well as thigh swivel, but that could also be convenient looks by how the molds are assembled. Elbows and bicep swivel are yes though. Those are clear as day on the green and red lions.

I'm really excited about these. Now I can show my kids my Soul of Chogokin version when it comes and let them play with this one.
