New Biggest Walmart in Canada located in Victoria BC. on Vimeo
This Wal-mart is a 40 minute drive away...no point because even though, it is the BIGGEST Walmart in Canada, it fucking SUCKS.

A lot of stores are like that though. That's what makes hunting good. And just because they dont have the latest now, doesn't mean they wont. I look at this as just another store for you to check. More stores = more options = more chances of getting what you want.
I have always found that stores in not so good areas deemed the best places for finding new releases. All of the others are stores people frequent often. The Walmarts and Targets in "bad" neighborhoods give more reward, however their restock is bad. |

It is fail. My local walmart was the "biggest on the west coast" for awhile. Poor Iron Patriot and Cap Britain are sitting there, but they refuse to restock until all the stock is gone.

Same thing happened to me a few years back, a brand new Wally World opened right by my father - in - law's, went there on grand opening day and the selection in their toy aisles resembled something out of Big Lots. That was right around the time DCUC wave # 10 came out so that's what I was on the hunt for. All they had were a few DCIH peg warmers and a peg full of DCUC Captain Cold, I swear I think Mattel was shipping cases of just that 1 figure. Since then it never got better as far as selection either.
I think it genuinely depends on which area the store is located. What's going on with DCUC at Wal - Mart all 5 stores in my area carried a good stock of them and within the last month, all DCUC seemed to dry up and what left is on clearance.

What were you doing in Wal Mart looking for toys in the first place?

I swear that Target and Walmart alternate (every other wave) who gets decent MU shipments. For me, Cable wave was all Walmart, but Strange Wave was all Target,.. seems like Walmart is where to go for Mr. Rogers' wave now.

That's true. I did find the cable wave best at Wal-Mart and Doctor Strange set at Target.

Same problem with me. Walmarts have been really shitty on current waves in my area too.

It's a weekly tradition. Hit up Walmart every Sat for food. Gotta check out the toy section first. I have found plenty of toys there. Including a phasing Vision. It was the only new fig on the shelf one day.

My buddy tried to return an action figure set at WalMart yesterday without a receipt for store credit, and they told him that they don't do that because the figure costs too much. Long story short, they wouldn't let him return the figure because he is Spanish. He was mad but too shy to argue with them, so I bitched them out for him. WalMart is a backwards hick retailer that exploits the communities they have weaseled their way into.

Haha yea Wal-Mart are evil demons from...that place where Wal-mart started. Try working for them, it's god awful. Some times I don't blame the employees, OH SHIT, SORRY, I mean "associates" for being bitchy.

It's not just MU that Walmart sucks on stocking, it's every damn thing. They will get in a new wave ONCE, months after other retailers mind you and never restock.

Well, hopefully we can keep all the Walmart rants in one thread now.

I have at best 5 walmarts. one of which I know does not carry marvel universe. might I also add that walmart is also in the ghetto, closes at midnight, and deals with crime. so I avoid ghettomart. Theres 2 that are a little ways out, one of which is good for a MU fix. not sure about the other. But theres 2 Walmarts close to where I work and home and those places are MU City. I've picked up all my gigantic battles from them, and they are good with the new stuff. great walmarts.
If you can get there, I recommend hitting up the Walmart in Springfield on US40 (just off I-70). A bit out of the way, but it can be a gold mine for MU and other lines since it's not really that close to any high-traffic areas (aside from I-70). I went there last weekend and they were fully loaded with new MU, DOTM, T-Cats and 30th Joes. Even had some new PR Samurai stuff too. There's also some good ones down south along I-75 (near Hamilton), but it can also be a bit out of the way for Daytonians. Then again, I have never come up empty going to them. It seems like everything I can't find around here, I find down there. I know it well too. My friend was shot during a botched carjacking in the parking lot there a couple of years ago. (She survived, thankfully). Funny how you, Nexo and I are all in the same area. You guys should post more in the sightings thread!

Man, this sucks to hear. I'm fortunate enough that only one of my Wal-marts isn't carrying Marvel. The other nine are. Hunting is usually pretty good in my area. I've never really had a hard time finding anything (Marvel or Transformers)
Only thing that sucked trying to find was RTS Transformers, but even those showed up in bulk at Ross and TJ Maxx. If I can track some stuff down I'll keep you in mind Do Boy! |
