I think I want Dale's chair more than his figure. The Morgan figure is really the only cool one. I would say Rick looks good, but they have yet to make a Rick that looks good in final production.

While it's awesome that they're doing gore-y swappable parts, it's disappointing that MacFarlane seems to be so caught up that they're spoiling a recent season in the process. I haven't gotten around to watching the latest one(season 5?) because I watch on Netflix. Sad that these toys have spoiled at least two major developments for me.

I usually record the show and watch it the next day. I literally have to completely avoid the internets and tell my coworkers I haven't watched it yet. Even then I still get someone who comes up to me and says "they killed off blank!" I try to keep up on the TPBs for the comics too but that's also tricky if you don't pick up the comics.

These look great, IMO. I've been waiting for a better sculpt of Rick. Might scoop Morgan as well.
I really liked Dale's character, but the figure looks a little dodgy, so I'm holding off for now. I can't get any of this stuff locally. Thank goodness for Toyark sponsors. |

I appreciate the review, as I'm ready to pre-order. You saw the Rick sculpt, and weren't put off by it?
Judging by these photos, I think Eugene looks weakest of the bunch. I wouldn't waste much time on him if I was the sculptor. |

I didn't look every figure over with great care but it looks like the best Rick so far, this line has typically had good sculpting on the faces and what not (except for some notable joints like shoulders and hips) but the paint work still seems to be on a figure by figure basis especially with this line's frequent "droopy eyes" paint chances.

I bought Rick a few weeks ago. He is awesome. Great sculpt, and the paint is pretty good. All in all, I feel like he's a milestone achievement for MacFarlane's Walking Dead line.
I feel like Morgan is a disappointment likeness-wise from the figures I've seen. His face doesn't look enough like the actor, but it's cool enough design that I may buy one eventually. |

Thanks guys! I've wanted a Rick for a while, so I'm buying him regardless, but this one does seem better.
Morgan is an important character, second only to Rick IMHO. I wouldn't be surprised if McFarlane releases another version of him in the future. Since face sculpts seem to improve with each attempt, I'm inclined to sit tight for now. |

Well Morgan isn't necessarily THAT important, but still an important dude (more so in the comics whereas he's only recently really joined the group on the show). Typically I would consider Glenn the second main character of the group (though never the second in command), especially in the comics, but that could just be me showing favoritism. I feel like the show kind of cycles which member of the group is the second most important from time to time but with the obvious core members always present beyond just filling space and breathing air.

Fair point. I'm biased in favour of actor Lennie James because I really enjoyed his character Hawkins in Jericho. When he made his first appearance in this show, I gave a whoop!

the thing I like about TWD is that no one's too "important" to die. grant it popularity insulates several cast members from being primary targets on the show, they usually take out one or two favorites every season. but it seems that the prime core cast gets put in the most "no way out" situations and makes it out while everyone else just screws up. look at the last episode WARNING MINOR SPOILERS: a lot of the group got picked off in the woods just not looking around! walkers are slow, and moving through the woods makes noise. keep your heads on a swivel people! pay freeking attention! I love Morgan, he's one of the few characters that I'd like them to do a full flashback episode on to fill the gaps. I'm going to start collecting TWD figures this wave because of him, rampage Carol, and the improved Rick. I just wish the did a non F'd up Tyreese with baby Judith for the win.

I find it weird that nobody thinks that Carl is the most important character after Rick. In the long run, comics-wise, I see him as the most important character of all. Glenn is a big deal. Morgan is more important as a foil/parallel to Rick. He is much different in the show than the comic. Besides Rick and Carl though, I don't feel confident in their long term presence.
I honestly hope they do a time jump in the show like in the comics so Carl can start being more central. He's a great character that keeps being relegated to babysitter because the writers seem to not know what to do with him. Even though, again, he's a huge deal. I'd be cool with a time jump, as long as it doesn't require a sub be brought in for Chandler Riggs. that kid has Carl down, but he's too young to get away with a two year increase in age over night. I think he's coming into his own ok on the show. hell, next to Rick, Carol, Daryl, and Glenn he's the longest lasting regular. I think though, a lot of devices they use in the comics would get cumbersome in a weekly show, like time jumps, Rick loosing a hand, and Carl loosing an eye. notice once someone looses a limb in the show there days are numbered. I'll bet it has to do with the hassle of CGIing the limb out or having to write and act around it. I'm not saying Carl's not a bad ass, but I think his character is written more as a focal point for Rick to maintain his sanity and reason (the thing he has to preserve and protect) and keep him grounded. hell everyone always draws parallels between Rick and the Governor, the only difference is the Gov's kid was a Zombie and Rick kept his alive. In that sense I'd say Carl is an important part of Rick's character.
