7" Superman 78 and Batman 89 figures? Since they can obviously do figures based on Batman v. Superman, one would assume they have permission to do figures of other DC movies. I know NECA has already come out with great figures of Reeve, Keaton, (as well as Penguin and Catwoman in 1/4 scale), but I'd like to see how other companies fare, and maybe since they don't have the same restrictions as NECA, they could make figures of more of the villains and supporting characters. Who knows, while NECA couldn't afford the rights to Nicholson's likenss, maybe DCC could.

I'd imagine with DCC's new movie line, that they will cover all the bases they can, within reason. Mezco, I'd highly doubt.

I read somewhere that as of right now, DC Collectibles movie line could only go as far back as Man of Steel.

Randy Falk explained that what allows Mezco and DCC to do DC movie figures in that scale is the price. $20 6/7" figures are Mattel's domain and since that's the usual price range of 7" NECA figures, they can't do DC figures in that scale under normal circumstances. The premium figures DCC are coming out with now are around $40, and Mezco's One:12 figures are around $70. It seems like nobody's stepping on anyone else's toes since each of these lines are in a different price range. |

I don't know if this means much, but I did get a reply from Mezco's Twitter about this question. It's one of those "we can't confirm or deny" deals but the wink emote seems a bit coy, like they're hinting at something.

reason i said over 20 years was i was thinking those films it will be their 50th Anniversary. Though thinking about it , Batman the animated series have gotten new figures, so maybe we might see them sooner

I don't think any action figure company other than Mattel is sadistic enough to make us wait 20 years for good figures of those characters. There's already been several series of Aliens and Predator figures at NECA and those movies are less than 50 years old.

When Mezco first unveiled the One:12 line at SDCC back in 2014, they had a placard on display of the '89 Batman logo. It was displayed right along side Universal Monsters and Judge Dredd placards. Since we've already seen Dredd and the first of the Universal Monsters, I would say it's just a matter of time before we see a Keaton Batman, unless they've hit a serious snag with the licensing.

Oh yeah, I remember hearing about that. A Keaton Batman from them would be like a miniature of the Hot Toys version.
