Taking my explanation from the Hisstank:
Quote:
When I signed up I was trying to think of what would be a cool Joe-style codename, when I remembered the player character's callsign in Ace Combat 6.
It later became a double entendre, seeing as I'm what's known around Mass Effect boards as a "Talimancer", or a fan of Tali'Zorah and the romancing thereof. My OTHER Username, SonicVanguard, should be self-explanatory: I'm a huge Sonic fan. I also love the Vanguard class in Mass Effect. Sonic's Homing Attack is very similar to the Vanguard's Biotic Charge in Mass Effect 2 and 3. So I came to the conclusion that Sonic was a Vanguard, and thus decided to make that my new Gamertag and handle from now on. |

I used to be a huge G.I. Joe fan, and my favorite character in the Rise of Cobra movie was Rex "The Doctor" Lewis, who later became Cobra Commander. 85 is the year I was born...I have since renounced all ties to G.I. Joe, but I still have the username. lol

When I first started being an active message board user when I was 13, I quickly created a bad reputation for myself as an obnoxious 13 year old with no social skills. Total noob. After time, I felt a need to change things up and start fresh. So I created a new account on the Star Wars forum I was on. Thinking up names, I looked at my Star Wars cookbook... I'm a big Fett fan, and I love cooking, so I took the name. I made a new email to go with it and started using it everywhere.

Started using Darkspeed on TFW2005, as a name for a fan character... I've no idea where the name came from, I picked it from a list and it sounded cool. Now I use it for pretty much every forum I am a member of, to make it easy on myself and others to find me.

M3T4L V1KING. It's simply my Xbox Live Gamertag. I wanted it to be something like Techno Viking but I decided to go with the music I listen too. You may have noticed that the last 'I' in 'V1KING' is actually an 'I'. It's for the simple fact that I made a Gamertag right before that called 'm3t4l v1k1ng'. Then I realized (after Tiberius pointed it out) it looked REALLY stupid, so I made a second gamertag and since the 'm3t4l v1k1ng' was already taken I had to make a slight adjustment, thus why the second 'I' is actually an 'I'.
So now I use it for everything, Youtube, Toyark, Skype, etc. Anything I can think of I'm the M3T4L V1KING. I call it... my online identity. |

My son asked me about my parents one day when he was very little. I told him my daddy was the devil and my mama was a goat. He smiled and dropped it. Later with my wife he was pointing out the car going mama! He saw goats...... I explained and had to explain to him it was a joke. Later my wife calleed me a siamese goat cause I can be real nice or a complete dick depending on who I am dealing with. Thus siamese goat stuck.

I have an extremely common Welsh/English surname. Tracing my ancestry far enough back, the paternal line of my family hails from Denmark, and the Scandinavian derivation of my surname is Hrothgarsson, "son of Hrothgar."
tl;dr - "Rogers" is the anglo-bastardization of the Olde English "Hrothgars," which itself is an abbreviation of the Germanic "Hrothgarsson." I most frequently see folks misspell or switch it with "Hogarth," the kid from The Iron Giant. Last edited by hrothgars; 10-15-2011 at 08:22 AM.. |

Well as for me I used Red Lantern because i was a fan of the Alpha Male &* craziness of the red Lanterns In Green Lantern's comics. They were some really badassed villains & they were tough to beat head on.
161 is the number of a religious retreat I went on whereas I became a leader of a youth group & it's called the Jornadista movement. There have now been 164 retreats for guys & 176 for girls & the retreats have you stay for 4 days in a secret location to be taught by leaders of the same Gender & there were only members of the same sex for obvious reasons. You learn about God in general. & the retreat was a great experince for me it kinda helped make me into the man I am today. Hopefully no one here tries to start a religious debate on here because I look at it as to each their own when it comes to that.

Behindthemask is reference to both superheroes in general as well as my favorite superhero Iron Man. Men and women put their lives on the line to save man kind but not approved by all mankind due to mutant factor so they use a mask they fight behind mask to unleash ultimate justice, batman, spiderman, deadpool, spawn, iron man, they all have a mask, pretty much most superheros have a mask, and the one's that don't are either freaks or superman. I wanted a name that was kinda mysterious and self explanitory.

The collectable card game "Magic: the Gathering" used to be a HUGE part of my life. I lived it. Breathed it. Loved it. I taught many great players the game. I went to all the tournaments. "Ihsan's Shade" was a "Legandary creature" from the "Homelands" expansion. Ive always loved the artwork on the card (my Avatar), and have gone by the name "IhsantheCursed" online , on MANY forums, for a very long time.

On Seibertron.com 'I'm Primacron's Little Helper', Primacron is a little monkey type creature that created Unicron and the 'primatives' in the Transformers cartoon (the one episode I had on video as a kid was 'Call of the Primatives'), a major part of my collection is G1 Transformers with an animal alt mode (I pretty much have them all).
The Little Helper bit is a Simpsons reference (as in Santa's Little Helper), but when I created a username here I wasn't allowed such a long name and so became just Primacron. I have called my customs thread Primacron's Little Helper's Customs though. PLH

I generally use it for most forums. TFW2005, HISSTANK, StatueForum, SideShowFreaks, etc... (ToyArk is the best of course )
My screen name unfortunately has a long story. In 2001 I was working in an office building and all the employees had to go through emergency situation training just after 911. The security expert that was involved in the training spent a crazy amount of time talking about what to do if "malcontents" were to attack the office. The climate was very serious with that kind of stuff at the time if you guys remember. Later that day I was trying to create a new email address, but everything I wanted to use was already taken. I was really frustrated so I thought about my training and the proverbial "malcontents" that I had heard so much about earlier and relaized that at that moment I was malcontent about my email address situation. I always loved superheroes and believed that I was feeling what I believed the definition of malcontent to be at the time . Thus, "Malcontentman" was born. I have been using it for everything ever since. Thanks Vampireheart for pointing me to this excellent thread that BlackMagnus ingeniously put together. It is like being on Dr. phils couch. |

Whoa...never realized that I haven't posted in this thread. Went back through just to double check as well.
Anyhow, LXL stands for my initials and Guy because I'm a guy. What can I say, I like to keep it simple. |

My favorite classic writer is George Orwell. When I created the user name years ago I thought it would be clever to be orwell1984 (because there would be no way someone else would ever think of that before me, right?). Well when I put in the name, of course it had been taken, so I screamed the F-bomb. I randomly looked down at my phone and saw that 3825 spells out the word I had just screamed and there you have my name........
