Alright for Marvel movies NOT done by Marvel Studios, I typically shy away from figures. For example, I don't find the Fox X-Men designs to be the most appealing. There are a few X2 figures I regret passing on sure, but I prefer movie designs by Marvel Studios. They seemed to have hit their stride with a balance between nods to the books and functional uniforms.
However I see The Wolverine as a massive missed opportunity. PUCK should've have been a regular figure. Maybe packed with another figure. Now most of the characters from The Wolverine I probably wouldn't want figures of. Harada for sure because he was bad ass, same with his Black Clan ninjas. Wolverine? Eh..maybe not. SILVER SAMURAI?! HELL YEA! If there was ONE figure I would've wanted from The Wolverine, it would be Silver Freaking Samurai. Having him be a BAF would be justified since he's freaking big. The Wolverine Legends line would've been much more appealing to me if he was the BAF, not Puck! Hopefully next year we can have a Legends wave with BAF MOVIE Silver Samurai. Who wants it?

I would want the figure made. That is a good decision and makes logical sense, but as a baf if I'd put him in the mix or not, as I'd prefer to see larger scale characters get made. If he was an up-scaled MU with a better sculpt I'd be down, Marvel Select may make one hard to say from them, I find they fill a lot of gaps ML leaves out, unfortunately the scale doesn't always work out. Silver Samurai or Kenuichio Harada stands at 6'6 weighing 250 without armour, 320 with armour according to MU. If they did the figure right with dual swords, removable helmet and armor, then I'd be down.

Exactly,.. haven't seen the film yet, but that was not what I was thinking, in that case... I approve and would buy a wave to complete him.

That would be very awesome. I was hoping that Marvel Select was going to make one but they said they couldn't. One from Marvel Legends would be great then.

I'd say no as a Kenuichio Harada figure (he was never an Asian-themed Iron Monger). However, as a different character (like his son Shin, maybe) I might go for it.
Also, his armor was not made of adamantium in the comics, so I guess I'll have to see the movie to figure out how the @#$% Kenuichio is able to walk in that thing.

I'll take the figure any way I can get him. ML, MS or BAF any one way would be great, but I'm old lol and still partial to the design with the rising sun on the chest plate, to me that is timeless and correct. If this has been mentioned above please erase this post from your memory, thank you

There was a prototype made I believe for a Toy Fare magazine poll but Samurai lost I think to Sunfire.

I'd expect a ML classic Silver Samurai to be made waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay before the movie version.
I seriously don't see all the appeal of a movie version from you guys. It's long overdue for a comics version. |
