The trailers look so stupid that there's no way it can't be a good time. Idris Elba's character alone should make it at least watchable.

It's really about nothing. There's no plot. It wanders aimlessly the whole time. It's just people talking and doing weird shit. Definitely not a classic (in my mind) and not rewatchable in the slightest.

That movie looks hella fun. And it shouldn't really, given how bad Furious 8 was. But here we are.

@Vamp I usually don’t as well. Because I’ve watched a lot of Good-Great films but only to see them have like 55% or below on Rotten tomatoes. Tron Legacy is what comes to mind immediately. One of my favorite films. |

duuude they massacred Tron Legacy, it's also one of my favorite films. Wish people hadn't been so hard on it, we'd have Tron 3 by now.

I feel the same way about Man of Steel. It's tied with Batman '89 for my favorite comic movie.

Same! Man man of steel is amazing. The Ultimate edition of BatVsupes ain’t bad either. But 89 Batman is excellent but I’ve always found myself loving Batman Returns more. It’s the Christmas aspect of things I’d guess.

I watch Returns every Christmas. Usually on Christmas Eve.
And I like the Dawn of Justice UC too. |

I've always said that Man of Steel is a solid start to a trilogy that never came. I still think that if there was a second movie dealing with (preferably) Brainiac or maybe Lex creating Bizarro or a lower tier Superman villain like Parasite before Dawn of Justice it would've gone over better but of course WB had to just go an rush everything out the door because...well "F**k you that's why!" I guess.
I really hope all the talk of Henry Cavill being done as Superman is not true because I've been chomping at the bit for a true MoS sequel since I first saw it. Especially now that the DC movies seem to be on the right track after Aquaman and Shazam. |

I feel like MoS got off to a good start, but somewhere about halfway into the movie it just flies off the rails.

Man of Steel had too much stuff for one movie.
Krypton prologue Lois investigating the mystery super-powered man in the present. Clark's flashbacks. Military not trusting Superman. Phantom Zone Criminals. The old movies were wise to separate Superman's origin/world's intro to Superman and the Phantom Zoners into two movies (though mostly filmed at the same time). Not that they were perfect, either. |

I agree, Sean.
I saw Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark recently. I thought it was okay. I read the book as a child, and found it terrifying, and the art still gives me the scares to this day. But this movie wasn't really that scary. It wasn't bad, it was just....eh.

Dora and the Lost City of Gold
Meh. Was hoping for better, but it had its moments. I appreciate some of the humor revolving around how ridiculous the original show was.

I saw IT part 2 and it was good but 2 things bothered me. i wont say any spoilers dont worry. First, it was very slow at the mid point of the movie and Second, they had about three "out of place" jokes that instead of being funny it was awkward, no one laughed when those scenes happened. Just remember the Cheek stabbing and Vomit scenes.

It Chapter Two. Loved it honestly, don't know why a lot of people didn't. I prefer it to the first movie, but like them both. Good adaptations, really, and the adults are perfectly cast. Only problem was a few subplots didn't really go anywhere or get resolved, and the movie outstayed its welcome a bit. But it was awesome.

Also just saw It: Chapter 2. Was decent enough, but felt an hour too long. Pennywise lost a lot of his spice from the first one. His "horrors" felt more silly than scary. The jumps between kid/adult worked well, due to an amazing cast. Definitely getting this for scary movie marathons in the future.
