Hellraiser 2—7/10

Uneven movie, but I enjoyed it more than the first one. I may watch the third, but this series isn't really my favorite.

I do like that they gave depth and humanity to Pinhead in this one. And although dated, the sets and effects are really cool and ambitious.

"Dog Eat Dog"-6/10

Acting was great, direction was great, story was meh.

The best part for me was the lighting. Loved the different colour schemes used throughout.

The Founder - 6/10

Great acting from Michael Keaton but it was kind of boring to watch overall. Still interesting to learn about McDonald's history though.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2—6/10

I might be generous by giving it a 6. First film is much better. This one is in a lot of ways a retcon of stuff mentioned/established in the first one.

Watched Doctor Strange the other night, for the first time after I saw it in theaters last year. Still a fun movie, and I think they did a great job depicting the character and his backstory.

Me too. I never got to experience it because it was common knowledge by the time I was in school. Kids used to say it to each other at recess and lunch.

I would also pick SAW, since I ruined it for myself by looking it up on youtube. I thought it would be a dumb movie so I just spoiled it. Regretted it ever since watching the full movie.

Felt like the movie started strong and fizzled out midway and never recovered.

A lot of people like it, but I feel it's just a depressing movie that doesn't do anything to advance to the X-Men film universe.

Canonically it doesn't even make sense, as it references the original trilogy even though that has been retconned. It also says that mutants haven't been born in 25 years or so, yet in the Days of Future Past epilogue, you can see mutant children running around Xavier's mansion when Wolverine wakes up. The Days of Future Past epilogue takes place in 2023, and Logan takes place in 2029.

So in just 6 years, the X-men disbanded, Xavier became senile, mutants disappeared, and Logan became a crippled old man.

Somebody tell me how that works lol.

Lol that just shows the writers aren't paying any attention or just don't care.

It's the director James Mangold, who I think wrote it too. He's gone on record to say he's more interested in doing his own standalone thing than participating in the established universe.

I think if people can't respect what's come before in the franchise, they should just not make the movie.

Get Out - 10/10. Provides a perfectly plausible explanation of why Cosby wears those sweaters.

Hellraiser after the first 2 is a bunch of crap. The third one is cheesily amusing in the right state of mind (wasted), but 90% of the entertainment value in the franchise ends right there. I think I prefer part 2 to the original. I love the sfx work in both, especially the original birth fron the floor scene of the first. I don't rank these among my favorite horror flicks, but the Cenobites were pretty dark and freaky when the movies first came out, and the gore scenes really to this day are pretty impressive on the whole.

@Thor you beat me to it!

I watched Get Out a few weeks ago and forgot to post about it. I was lucky enough to see it for free at my college. I really loved the movie it was very well done, and it's crazy that Jordan Peele did something so out of his territory, yet pulled it off so well. It was a great movie and I would watch it again. Probably an 8/10 for me.

I heard mixed things about the third Hellraiser. I probably won't watch it. 2 is the only one I would consider watching again. Although I thought it was really weird how the main chick's boyfriend just disappeared in it, despite being shown at the beginning from archival footage.

The Terminator - 8/10. It's probably been about 17 years since I last saw this, happily I don't think nostalgia was blinding me, if anything it was even better than I remembered.
