XMO Wolverine and Ironman 2 has given us a pretty good group of Comic Figures. All of the Ironman 2 Comic Figures have been fantastic, and Most of Wolverines Figures are great(Maverick and some of the Logans and cape sabretooth are the exceptions, but that Astonishing Wolverine figure is Freakin Awesome)
So below is my 10 Captain America Comic Figures I wanna see. I am excluding from this list, Red Skull, Bucky, Barnes as Captain America, and Captain America himself cause we have already gotten them in MU, and they are clinched for this series in my opinion. So here we go Crossbones Crossbones makes a third list of mine. What can I say? I want to bulk up my villains and he would be a perfect fit. The Man who "Killed" Captain America Arnim Zola I've already heard he's in the movie, perhaps in human form or whatever. Either way, the movie line is the perfect way to get him, since they tend to use all new molds for the movie lines. And how awesome would it be if Hasbro went back and incorporated some of that classic Visionaries toy tech for the chest face. Fantastic figure there Steve Rogers Steve snuck his way into this list, thanks to the current status quo. People want Commander Rogers, its an awesome uniform, and he leads an awesome team in an awesome book. Nuff Said Isaiah Bradley Who didnt like "The Truth"? Great book, and it also gave us the leader of the Young Avengers and a great supporting member of Caps Baron Zemo how could you make a captain america toy line without Zemo? The only question is, which Zemo do you do? Modern or his father. I'd say Modern in this case, though we could get both really easily Batroc Batroc was teased this year in one of those hasbro sillouette pictures. Whos to say that wasnt a tease for the Captain America line? nuff said Falcon Gotta have Caps often side Kick, the Falcon. Complete with his bird Diamondback for this slot it came down to DiamondBack and Sharon Carter. Since this is a toy line associated with a movie, kids wouldnt be too interested in a normal spygirl named Sharon Carter. Sorry collectors. Diamondback gets this slot. But whos to say we dont get both? Sharon could very easily enter the series, or MU later on Baron Strucker HAIL HYDRA! Would look great next to my Red Skull. Thats all I can say about this one Patriot Patriot gets in here mostly cause of Isaiah Bradley, and the fact that he's a shield weilder. Would be nice to have him. Just do what hasbro did in reverse. Hasbro took the Toybiz Patriot and rereleased him as Bucky. Now hasbro can take the MU Bucky and rerelease him as Patriot. |

We're getting Constrictor soon, so a Diamondback would be nice (since Dark Reign and all) but I really think she would be a super-boring action figure. Her costume's not that interesting. Plus women figure don't sell well (reference all the ROC Baroness, Scarlett, Covergirl figures still on clearance and gathering dust at your local big box store).

Gambit, I must say, was also an exception to the "qualtiy" of the Wolverine Origins line. That figure was absolute garbage. They did better with the Iron Man 2 comic figures, so let's hope the comic line of the Captain America figures will also be good, and not just a bunch of Cap variants.
If they're doing CLASSIC Cap, there should be a Hitler villain figure for Cap to beat up, but somehow I don't think Hasbro's gonna go for that |

Zemo MUST be made. If he's not first wave I will be SORELY disappointed.
And that would be MODERN Zemo. Helmut is the best. Last edited by scarecrow; 09-30-2010 at 03:36 PM.. |

I'm trying to compare what we know from the last two movie lines.
XMO wasnt as expansive as IM2, but more diverse. IM2 propotionally has more Iron Man then any character. So my question is, do you feel like that we will get what we want out of this? Minimal amounts of Cap variants (good ones at least) with other characters mixed in the line? OR will we be subjected to repaints and repaints and variants and variants. |

Well, proportionally, there are far less variants/redecos of Captain America than there are of Iron Man (even including Steve, Bucky and the Patriots). Also, this line won't have that "must be armored" edict, so there is a greater likelihood of a more diverse lineup.

I'm hoping for a more diverse lineup, but I won't be surprised if we see some equivalent of the "concept armor" thrown in there.

I don't know, I can think of a lot of Captain America variations:
Civil War Captain America Isaiah Bradley Original WWII outfit (neckless mask) Ultimate World War II Captain America Captain America with ripped Army Uniform (Avengers #4) Nomad 1970s TV Movie Captain America (w/ Helmet) 1970s Captain America (black forehead, like the Mego) Cap-Wolf The Captain Deathlok Captain America (Excalibur #14) Exoskeleton Captain America (#438) Heroes Return Captain America Ultimate Captain America Punisher as Captain America Bucky as Captain America Steve Rogers - Super Soldier American Dream James Rogers (Next Avengers DVD) Earth X Captain America Thor Captain America (2099 Manifest Destiny) And that's only ones that I think would make good action figures. I wouldn't mind a few figures with dedicated action features, like a Cap paratrooper or Cap on a motorcycle with a helmet, just so long as we don't get the same Captain America over and over with a slightly different paint scheme. I have nightmares where I'm trapped in a toy store and everything is an Iron Man Mark VI; Barbies, stuffed animals, hot wheels cars - everything. |

Ok, now do the same kind of list for Iron Man. Bet you the list doubles before you run out of ideas.
I'm not saying there won't be multiple versions of Cappy, I just don't see nearly as many as what we've seen with Iron Man and the IM2 line.

Hey, Nexodusrex. How about a "Thor figures you'd like to see" topic? I was thinking of starting one soon!

Well, this is going to be more than 10, but I'll try to keep it in "chunks" of 10 at least. If a figure listed is one that's already been made in MU, assume I'm asking for an "improved" version:
"Modern Comic" Figures: 1. Steve Rogers - Super Soldier 2. Captain America - James "Bucky" Barnes 3. Crossbones 4. Sin 5. Sharon Carter 6. The Falcon 7. Baron Zemo (Modern) 8. Red Skull (Modern) 9. USAgent 10. Black Widow Bonus: "Agents of SHIELD" box set with Nick Fury (classic comic), Dum-Dum Dugan, The Contessa, and Clay Quartermain "Classic Comic" series: 1. Classic Captain America 2. Diamondback 3. Madame Hydra 4. Baron Wolfgang Von Strucker 5. Flag Smasher 6. Nomad 7. Batroc 8. MODOK (Probably going to be undersized but I'll live) 9. Red Guardian 10. Nuke Bonus: "Serpent Society" Box set with Cobra, Black Mamba, Asp, and Puff Adder. "World War II" Figures: 1. Union Jack 2. Namor 3. Human Torch/Jim Hammond (Flame/No Flame variants) 4. Toro 5. Spitfire 6. Arnim Zola 7. Red Skull (Classic) 8. Baron Zemo (Classic) 9. Baron Blood 10. Bucky Bonus: "Howling Commando" box set with Sgt. Fury, "Dum-Dum" Dugan, Gabriel Jones, and General Sam "Happy Sam" Sawyer Wanted but unlikely: Master Man (Can't really make a figure with a big-ol' swastika on his chest). Plus I'd love some kind of "troop builder" series: 1. Classic HYDRA Agent 2. AIM Operative (Not the beekeepers, the other ones) 3. ULTIMATUM Trooper 4. MODOC Drone 5. SHIELD Trooper I know it's way more than we'll likely get from the line (especially because there are so many villains and females), but I'd still love to see it! |

I agree. Iron Mans whole persona is based around his armors, and his armors are always advancing and always growing in numbers. He's probable from a marketing stand point the most expandable character out there. Captain America has a few signature looks and many other less known ones. I'm sure Hasbro will go through many of the signature ones with the movie line. But we will be lucky to see any of the more obscure ones. Not saying it wont happen. Hopping they go crazy with this line.

Also, I want to see a John Steele figure!!! Obscure as all hell but making a comeback in Secret Avengers
Sorry, I just can't bring myself to do ten. I just want Helmut Zemo, Steele, oh and Union Jack also. Falsworth as Union Jack would be GREAT. For anyone that doesn't know what Falsworth's uniform looks like, here it is: Last edited by scarecrow; 10-01-2010 at 12:42 PM.. |
