This past weekend at the ALL JAPAN PLAMODEL HOBBY SHOW 2009, Kawai Shokai showed off current and upcoming 1/18 scale military items by JSI. Shown were WWII tanks and warbirds such as the P-38 Lightning and F4U Corsair, as well as their highly anticipated 1/18 F-14A Tomcat.
However a previously unseen item was also shown, the 1/18 F-104J Starfighter JASDF repaint! The F-104J Starfighter in JASDF service bore some of the most colorful paint schemes of any Starfighter. The F-104 was a very popular 1/18 aircraft for 21st Century Toys, and the 1st jet that they ever made. A JASDF repaint has been a long time coming, and fans will be able to enjoy it soon enough.
