Sideshow Collectibles has posted another Q and A session. This time we learn a little more about future Indiana Jones projects, possible future license (nothing confirmed) and past product lines. Sideshow has been gracious enough to answer these questions and more. Here is an excerpt of this weeks column:
Q-I’m a huge Indiana Jones fan and I have to say I’m thrilled about the love you’re showing the 1/6 line lately and I’m also stoked about the upcoming prop replicas, dios and PFs! Thank you! I have a couple of quick questions about the KotCS 1/6 Indy: Firstly, is his hat removeable? Or is it permanently molded to his head like the Raiders Indy? And secondly, for the Exclusive Version … is there any chance you’ll include the refrigerator shelves so we can simulate the “before” moment? (I know, silly question, but I had to ask!) Thanks again for all the Indy love!
A-Yes, to the best of our knowledge, KOTCS Indy’s hat is permanently attached. We chose to represent the refrigerator from the post-nuclear blast, hence all the weathering painted on the outside, so we didn’t feel it was correct to include the shelving inside. Instead, Indy can go for one hell of a ride inside that frigid beast (just remember that polystone is rather fragile). It might be better if you tuck him inside for a nice nap.
Q-I love your stuff and have been collecting it for years. I’m praying that you do an Indiana Jones diorama from Raiders where he is being chased by the giant bolder. Will my prayers be answered?
A-This is very much an active design at Sideshow. We’re looking at several ways to capture this scene but haven’t yet struck on the design that satisfies our ambition to really capture Indy’s flight and the immense size of the boulder. We’ll keep working on it, and we hope to have more news to share in the near future!
