The Macross Chronicle magazine has provided an outlet for Yamato to offer obscure and overlooked designs that appeal to Macross collectors. Macross Chronicle #49 features a mail order form for a rather unique 1/60 toy from Yamato, the VF-X prototype! Yes the same non-transforming prototype testbed for the VF-1 Valkyrie shown in a flashback during the 1st Macross TV series.
