Merit International has posted images of their San Diego Comic Con 2010 Exclusive 1/18 F-14A Tomcat VF-154 Black Nights release by JSI. If this 1/18 F-14A Tomcat looks familiar it’s because the 1/18 F-14A Tomcat VF-154 Black Nights CAG was the subject of the 1st 1/18 F-14 Tomcat article we posted back in 2008.
As you can see, the upcoming release is significantly different from the initial version shown in 2008. The prototype shown in 2008 only featured air to air missle armnament, later used on the F-14A Tomcat VF-84 Jolly Rogers version released late last year. The SDCC Black Knights CAG version has armnament for an F-14A Bombcat configuration. The following are product specifications listed by Merit:

Excuse the incorrectly mounted ventral fins. This version also features electronic lighting, like the limited Jolly Rogers Special Edition release from last year. Electronic lighting was something JSI thought would be neat to implement, though the TCS is an odd place to light up, especially in red.
