I appreciate some people don't think all of the characters I listed would become figures, and I agree, but my point still stands.
Mathematically, we have had a wave of Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Wolverine, Spider-Man and Cyclops EVERY MONTH FOR THREE YEARS. Unless Magneto and Iceman are more than just repaints or what not, then FAIL. Pure and simple. And seeing how Ultron and Doom were NOTHING LESS, then history is in favor of the naysayer. I want this line to succeed, badly, and it won't die by pure fact of the different movies that come out, but there will be a definite decrease in overall interest among fans, such as us, if they keep throwing in repaints. I'm looking forward to pictures, and pleading to be wrong. A current Wolverine and redone Magneto and Iceman would be great, but we'll have to see. If the figures are better, I'll get them, but it's purely a wait and see, I guess. |

If the figures are better, I'll get them, but it's purely a wait and see, I guess. BUT like it was said before. Hasbro does stuff for a reason. My guess is that they want to single card this stuff because as new comic packs come out, they hope stores will send back the old merch and put the new ones on. Speculation of course. But when the day comes that there are no more SW CP out, those who don't have them can get them in single card. Regardless, I cannot speak for Iceman. The Spiderman mold is still 'out there' and it's possible he can be done in a million different waves. But we know for certainty that Magneto will NOT BE A REPAINT. I don't mean to beat a dead horse on this, but the evidence is clear and strong that the mold he used is no longer in use. So this shouldn't be a fear anymore. Can't attest to that the figure may not be great, but it will be new. Last edited by Tarquinius; 07-02-2011 at 08:15 AM.. |

^ That's brilliant.
And I've got no problem with people wanting other figures besides these, but at the same time Hasbro IS listening to the fans. One of the biggest complaints I've heard here is how bad the SW Comic Packs were (both the figures in general and specifically the QC). I, for one, think some fans would be very happy that Hasbro is at least trying to fix earlier mistakes. Look how many times they've tried to get Punisher right. Do I want other figures to come out as well? Certainly. To reference another thread here, if I were in charge of Hasbro's Marvel division, I would want to eventually cover every character in the MU in some way, shape or form. But I also know that it would be unrealistic to only do new figures all the time. You think prices are bad now, imagine what they would be like if Hasbro only used new and unique molds for every single figure.

Speaking of beating a dead horse, just finish the damn Secret Wars series already. There's still Rogue, Volcana, She-Hulk, Titania, Professor X, Doc Ock, Kang, the Lizard, Captain Marvel, Beyonder and Molecule Man. I, like many others, bought the entire set including the single-carded Wrecker and the non-variant Giant Size X-Men 6 pack in order to get the comic book accurate Colossus.
