Happy Thanksgiving everybody! Hasbro has sent us the last set of 2011 answers to our GI Joe Q&A questions. Hopefully these answers will leave you with some things to look forward to next year.
1) During the last Q&A we weren’t given an answer on when the 30th anniversary toys would be released in Canada. As of yet, they haven’t been released there. What’s the hold up, did plans change?
1A: They will definitely be released in Canada at the end of 2011 and into early 2012. The figures will be available at Wal-Mart, Toys ‘R Us & Zellers. The vehicles will be available at Wal-Mart. We hope you find them!
2) The HISS Scout and GI Joe Cycle Armor are MIA on US store shelves, and haven’t been carried by most etailers. Going forward, what’s the plan for these Alpha vehicles?
2A: Unfortunately most retailers opted not to take the Alpha Vehicles this year. There were limited quantities released in Canada and we are still working with some etailers to gauge interest. Please let your local retailers know that you would like to see them carry these vehicles in the future!
3) The 30th Anniversary line features figures of Renegades characters who didn’t appear much in the show(Air Tight, Law and Order for example), compared to Destro, Roadblock and The Baroness. We realize that tooling could’ve been a cost issue, especially since Roadblock would’ve required a bigger body. Are characters with unique tooling viable for upcoming 7 packs?
3A: You are correct! We had to work very hard to manage costs within in the 20th Anniversary line which required us to make some tough decisions on figure choices and tooling usage. The 2012 movie line will use some new tooling in order to provide more movie accuracy. There are currently no plans for additional 7-packs in 2012.
