Exchange Rate News: Now over 100 Yen to the USD!
A weak yen means the best prices at HLJ in over 4 years!
Over the last several months we’ve seen the exchange rates improving, with the Japanese yen now weakening to an over 4-year high of over 100 Yen to the US Dollar (and 132 Yen to the Euro and 155 yen to the GBP)! What does that mean for our overseas customers? Cheaper prices! A weak Yen means your Dollars, Pounds, and Euros can buy even more at HLJ, since all our prices are in yen, including shipping. Quick example:
Back when the rates were 73 Yen to the US Dollar, an item that cost 3,500 yen to buy and ship to the US would have cost $47.95.
At the current 100 Yen to the Dollar rate, that same item shipped to the US would now cost only $35.00…just about $18.00 less! That’s a huuuuge difference!
So, it’s easy to see how the weak yen directly affects our prices for our overseas customers.
