Renato of MacrossWorld has posted a photo of a teaser included with the recently released Macross Plus Blu-ray set. Coming in 2014 by Arcadia is an all new 1/60 YF-19 with Fast Packs! Arcadia is no stranger to Macross Plus, let alone Macross in general nor the YF-19. With Yamato ceasing operations late last year and re-emerging as Arcadia, this new YF-19 in a way has become like a Phoenix. The 1/72 YF-19 was the 1st Macross toy released by Yamato Toys over a decade ago. In the mid-2000’s they released a 1/60 YF-19 but by the time Yamato released their 1/60 Macross 7 VF-19’s the 1/60 YF-19 was definitely showing its age.
Of the 3 1/60 Macross Plus toys by Yamato, the YF-19 was the one that looked the most dated. As such, fans wanted a new 1/60 YF-19 made just as good as the 1/60 Macross 7 VF-19’s. Adding to speculation and rumors that a “1/60 YF-19 Renewal Version” was coming, was the fact that the designer of the Yamato SV-51 and Macross 7 VF-19’s wanted to not only make a YF-21 Renewal but a new YF-19 as well.
Well, we’re getting it as Arcadia “strikes back” with an all new YF-19 toy next year. As you can see by the battroid mode drawings shown in the background, proportions mirror the 1/60 Macross 7 VF-19’s with a chunkier heroic silhouette. This is more accurate than the typically slender/skinny transforming YF-19 toys previously released by Yamato. Read on to see the teaser image.
