We live blogged the panel and now our team is standing by as Mattel slowly but surely unboxes and sets up the figures. Read on to see a few pics and be sure to refresh every few minutes as new ones are added. Ozymandias from The Watchmen is on display. The big reveal are hand-painted samples of the upcoming 2014 DC Comics Multiverse Toyline. Mattel is finally making fully articulated 4″ DC Comics figures! More info:
- 4″ scale
- 18 points of articulation
- On shelves Spring 2014
- 3 waves, 18 figures
The 1st wave will feature figures from Arkham City & Arkham Origins. Meanwhile wave 2 will focus on movies, including the 1st Michael Keaton Batman figure by Mattel! Figures on display here for the 1st time include:
- Arkham City Batman
- Arkham City Azrael
- Arkham City Armored Edition Batman
- Arkham Origins Mr. Freeze
- Arkham Origins Deadshot
- Arkham Origins Bane
Something we should point out, is that these are a far cry from the DC Infinite Heroes 3.75″ figures from 2008. Another world premiere here is of the DC Comics Total Heroes toyline. More info:
- 6″ scale
- New form factor developed in collaboration with the 4 Horsemen
- 14 Points of articulation
- On shelves Spring 2014
- 10 figures available through 2014
These figures feature animated styling. Articulation looks consistent, it is different from DCUC but most points of articulation are actually retained or incorporated in different ways. They definitely look different from previous Mattel DC 6″ figures and the S3 Young Justice line. Nonetheless, if you like animated styled figures in 6″ scale, these might appeal to you. Total Heroes figures on display include:
- Batman
- Aquaman
- Superman
- The Flash
- Green Lantern
- Sinestro
