Age of Ultron Minimates 4 Pack Photo Shoot

The Age of Ultron has rocked the comics but before it gets turned into an Avengers movie in 2015 they are getting the Minimates treatment! Recently released is the Age of Ultron 4 pack featuring AoU Iron Man, AoU Nick Fury, Conqueror Ultron, and AoU Angela (previously seen in Spawn titles, long story). The characters all sport their look from the AoU comic run, and are well done indeed. Check out some quick thoughts and over 50 high resolution pics of the set after the break!

Minimates – the grown up mini figures from Diamond Select Toys are now over 10 years old and they continue to push out great figures. As someone who has randomly grabbed Minimates throughout the years, this set really highlights how well done they can be. The paint has a slight metallic finish on most. All the paint apps are tight, and the faces continue to impress by capturing the essence of the character in 2d form.

Of special note in this set is Conqueror Ultron, really beefing up the mini figure specs with 6 arms, specialized legs and overall heft. The fact this guy doesn’t tip over immediately blows my mind, not once did he take a tumble. Nick Fury comes with 2 guns and a Jetpack with an exhaust accessory allowing him to tower over the rest, perfect for displaying on busy shelves. Angela gets her first Minimates likeness since joining the Marvel Universe after being bought from Neil Gaiman / McFarlane-Spawn. Rounding it out is AoU Iron Man, rocking a black/blue suit with a removable helmet that goes over the standard Tony Stark Minimates head.

All the figs are tight, nothing loose, stand well, great plastic quality. Stands included for each which is a bonus. Overall, really great set if you’re down with the Age of Ultron comics or Marvel Minimates in general. Check out over 50 pics of the bunch below!
