Ghostbusters ” I Love This Town” Minimates Review and Gallery

Ghostbusters and Minimates have a nice history together. There have been some truly unique and fun sets over the past few years. With the Ghostbusters ” I Love This Town” Minimates Box Set, Diamond Select Toys gives us a great rendition of the Ghostbusters, along with numerous accessories, head sculpts and all the stuff that makes Minimates great.

Diamond Select Toys has really turned Minimates into one of the best values in collectible toys. With any purchase, you get from two to four figures, accessories, additional head sculpts, stands, etc. You also get figures that don’t take up a lot of shelf space and have enough articulation to rival many figures twice their size.

With the Ghostbusters ” I Love This Town” Minimates Box Set, you get all four Ghostbusters; Egon Spengler, Peter Venkman, Winston Zeddemore, and Ray Stantz. Each figure comes with their own Proton Pack and Neutrino Wand, which is removable. They also each have a hip mounted, but removable, walkie talkie. The set includes four standard Ghost Traps, an “open” Ghost Trap, a PKE Meter, Ecto Goggles, Proton Streams for all the characters, alternate heads for Egon and Venkman as well as two marshmallow splat head pieces. A stand for each figure is also included.

The Ghostbusters come decked out in their uniforms, each featuring their own name tags, and a very sharp Ghostbusters symbol on their sleeves. As usual, paint applications are clean, and details are very sharp. The face designs feature stylized likenesses that, for the most part, hit the mark. Egon’s is especially well done. As usual, the figures have a ridiculous amount of articulation, and you’ll be able to hit just about any pose you can think of. the included stands go a long way to keeping them sturdy as well.

Bottom line is that this is a top notch set. The amount of accessories included really put it over the top. If you happen to gran one of the 24″ Stay Puft Marshmallow Man vinyl banks, it will fit in perfectly with these. If you’re a Minimates and/or a Ghostbusters fan, then this is a set worth owning. The set is available now at specialty and comic shops. It has an MSRP of $19.99.
