The Toyark is catching up with S.H. Figuarts Dragonball Z galleries, one a day till we’re done! SDCC 2012 Exclusive Gohan is up on the roster today, repainting a highly sought after regular release Gohan. This was the Bluefin / Tamashii Nations exclusive for the show that year, doing Gohan up in Anime colors like they did for Goku the year before. He rocks a very colorful purple and darker skin tone. Check out our shots of one of the hardest to get pieces in the line after the break!
Stop back all week as we finish up our SHF DBZ galleries!
S.H. Figuarts SDCC 2012 Super Saiyan Gohan
Pros
Colors match anime better
Face detail paint less busy
Cons
A little too rich in the colors compared with other releases
Elbow joints can be loose
Overall
One of the last catch up figures I got as he is running high on the secondary market along with the regular version. Hopefully they figure some way to get him out to the masses again because now that the line has some steam, everyone wants Gohan. The colors on this are much better, very rich in saturation. Matches the Anime rather than the Manga. He’s a little too dark in the purple, even when matched up with SDCC Piccolo (coming later), but if I had to choose I’d grab those two, I’m an Anime guy first. Overall, great fig and great repaint, if you get a chance to pick him up reasonably do it.
