The ReAction Figure line comes full circle with the newly released Alien ReAction Series 2 Figures. This wave gives us some new figures in the alien line, which were the very first ReAction Figures released. In this wave we get four figures:
- Ellen Ripley in Nostromo Spacesuit
- Metallic Big Chap Alien
- Kane with Facehugger
- Kane with Chestburster
Toyark sponsor Entertainment Earth has supplied us with the figure, and we have a full gallery to check out. We have over 50 photos of the figures as well as a review.

Overall
I was a big fan of the first series of Alien Reaction Figures. Getting a piece of history combined with a fantastic license was a real treat. The fact that it spawned a massive set of ReAction Figure releases which, according to Funko, are doing well, was even better. I was both happy and a little disappointed with Alien Series 2. Funko made some smart business decisions with this wave, but there feels like a few missed opportunities.
Let’s start with the good. This wave gives us a few figures from very icon moments in the film, namely the Kane figures. The included Facehugger is really sculpted beautifully. It even works with the Nostromo Suit Kane. The chestburster Kane has a few nice touches as well. The blood splatter is great, and the closed eyes were a nice touch. The Metallic Big Chap is a better use of the mold. The paints look great, and the skull paint apps really shine through the clear plastic headpiece. The Ripley, while mostly a repaint of from the Series 1 Kane figure, has a nice touch with the helmet, as there is not flashlight attachment to give it some variety compared to the wave 1 suit.
The wave is a bit of a disappointment, though. These are all variations of characters from the first wave. It was also a bit of a head scratcher to include two versions of Kane in this wave. Splitting one of those out to a third wave, and giving us a Parker, Lambert or Brett figure would have been ideal. there’s a lot of mold re-usage, which was to be expected. Also bothersome was the fact that a few of the figures had fairly loose joints right out of the package. Ripley was especially troublesome with a loose arm, two loose legs and a hand that was assembled incorrectly.
For me, it was a mixed bag. While, on their own, the figures are really nice, as a whole it felt like a bit of a miss. Having a second series comprised of all previously released characters, and two of the same character, is a letdown. On the positive, the Big Chap is an improvement over the first release, and the Kane figures, on their own, are quite cool.
