Diamond Select Toys continues their run of excellent Minimates with the series 2 Sin City Minimates Set. The 4-pack is based on The Hard Goodbye story from the film. It include four iconic figures and a ton of accessories. The crew at DST sent us a set for review, and I had some real fun shooting these. Included are the following:
- Marv
- Cardinal Roark
- Kevin
- Wendy

Overall
I was thoroughly impressed with this set myself. As Minimates box sets go, this one is a pretty stellar value. There are a number of accessories included here. Both Kevin and Marv feature extra heads to swap out. allowing you to switch up between regular and beat up Marv is a nice touch.
For me, the beat up Marv and the assorted accessories for Kevin are the real highlights of this set. Recreating scenes from the movie was great with those two. the included hair piece with handle was a very welcome and nice touch. The Roark is a nice companion piece to the previously released Senator Roark and the Wendy is a figure that likely wouldn’t stand a chance of release if not for Minimates. That’s why these series of figures are so welcome. Fans get a chance to get completely fleshed out lines with characters that would be overlooked otherwise.
The black and white color schemes still look great, as they did on the first series.I wanted to include Kevin on some of the interior shots in my gallery below, but I accidentally snapped the peg in his one knee. So he went straight to maimed Kevin.
Bottom line is this is a great set for Minimates collectors and fans of the Sin City movie. Check out a few highlight photos below, and the full gallery after the jump.
