The retro Kenner style figure craze has hit more than just Funko. Bif Bang Pow, in partnership with Zica Toys, has crafted their own set of 3.75″ retro figures based on characters from The Twilight Zone. Each figure is based on an iconic character from an episode of the anthology series. Series 1 is available now and includes the following figures:
- Episode 8: Time Enough at Last – Henry Bemis
- Episode 51: The Invaders – Invader
- Episode 89: To Serve Man – Kanamit
- Episode 89: To Serve Man – Kanamit in Work Uniform
- Episode 123: Nightmare at 20,000 Feet – Bob Wilson
- Episode 123: Nightmare at 20,000 Feet – Gremlin
- Episode 126: Living Doll – Talky Tina

Pros
- Great character choices
- Cardbacks are nice
- Sculpts have surprising amount of detail

- Green on Invader’s accessories is distracting
- These figure would especially benefit from resealable packaging
Overall
Retro figures can be very hit or miss for people. If the license doesn’t fit, the figures can com off as being out of place. Thankfully, the Twilight Zone is a perfect license for retro style figure. They worked very well in the Mego style, and equally so here. The cardbacks are wonderfully classic looking. Each features a character screenshot from their episode. The cards and the figures are both, appropriately, presented in black and white. The bubbles are glued on, which is a shame in this case. I think these would be ideal for resealable packaging.
Each figure features approximately 5 points of articulation, except for Invader, who has only 2. The sculpts on each is fantastic. The likenesses are spot on, especially for William Shatner’s bob Wilson. Most figures include an accessory or two. The Invader’s weapon/light accessory has a splash of green paint on it, which feels out of place. But, other than that, these are really fantastic representations. These figures feel like they really belong in the retro line and feel like they could have been released in the 60’s alongside the series.
Series 2 hits in May, and brings even more great characters from the series. I highly recommend these to fans of the show and fans of the Kenner style and ReAction figures. Check out a few highlights below, with the full gallery of over 60 photos after that.
