DC Collectibles Batman Animated BTAS Joker Gallery

The Toyark’s Wave 2 Batman Animated Galleries wrap up (for now) with none other than The Joker! The iconic, demonic trickster is shown off in his traditional Batman The Animated Series purple suit, white face, red lips, and black/green hair. He comes with episode specific accessories including a gas mask like dome, pick, comb, necklace and telescope, not to mention 3 pairs of interchangeable hands. Does the animated look hold up after all these years since we’ve seen The Joker get more menacing and evil in the movies and books? Overall
Overall, a well done figure. He nails the Animated look perfectly. As mentioned above, I think being exposed to Heath Ledger’s Joker, and the New 52 Joker has spoiled the almost innocent look of this version for me. The crazy clown doesn’t quite do it anymore. But, this is a blast from the past, a representation of an era, and it does that well. The episode specific items are well done, but I must say, I am not really feeling them for the most part, on any of the figures. I don’t remember most of the eps off hand, so if they went without them I’d be fine. 1 or 2 accessories to compliment the figure is fine, preferably a weapon. Freeze’s gun, Catwoman’s cat, Batman’s grappling gun, etc. Makes sense, easily recognizable as theirs. I don’t assume to speak from the majority there, I’m sure hardcore fans of the original toon will appreciate them. This line continues to strike all the right cords for nostalgia with a collector’s feel, and Joker is a key figure worth picking up if you’re all in.
