Earlier this year, Diamond Select Toys released their Burning Godzilla Figural Bank. This repaint of their Godzilla 1989 Figural Bank was released in March and is available at shops now, along with their other Godzilla bank release; Mechagodzilla, who has been available a little longer. These vinyl, full figure style banks make great statue style display pieces, and come in at a fraction of the cost. DST was king enough to send the Burning Godzilla and Mechagodzilla banks along, and I have a full gallery of them after the jump.

Overall
As a longtime fan of Godzilla, I’m always happy to see cool new collectibles come about. I know that these style collectibles aren’t everyone’s cup of tea. Many fans of these look for highly articulated designs. Thankfully, there are plenty of those to choose from in many different sizes. I enjoy the DST Godzilla banks for what they are, detailed vinyl statues. Large dedicated statues usually run outside my budget, so I opt for collectibles like these to get that large detailed fix, without breaking the bank (hehe). These banks, sculpted by Gentle Giant, stand roughly 12″ tall. The Godzilla sculpt also measure over 18″ from head-to-tail.
The sculpts are very detailed and the paint work is clean. The Burning Godzilal is pre-posed in an action stance, while the Mechagodzilla has articulation. You can pose the arms, legs and rotate the head at the neck. My only real con is that the Burning Godzilla paints aren’t film accurate. the paint itself is nicely applied and the added color, like NECA’s release, is a welcome improvement over the first release.
