There was a time when there was no network of sites, a time when a fledgling was setting up shop because an old school fan wanted to talk Transformers with like minded folks. Back in 2000, choices were fairly slim and there wasn’t much organization to what a fan site actually represented. In comes our own Tony Bacala.
When TFW2005 started, it was one of the only places you could find info, images, video and translations of the Transformers Car Robots series running in Japan. This was before video sharing was even a spec on the internet radar, so we were relegated to stamp sized videos coming in the hundreds of megabytes, all while most of us were just getting comfy with our 56K modems. How times have changed.
Now TFW2005 is the site to visit for everything Transformers. From news to galleries to con coverage, it’s all there. If it wasn’t for Tony Bacala and his dedication to keeping TFW2005 relevant in an ever changing internet landscape, we wouldn’t have the Toyark you are seeing today. I’ll share with you this quote, as it relates to not only TFW2005, but our entire network.
YOU make this place what it is. You are the only reason this place is still around 15 years later. So long as you keep coming, we’ll do our best to keep this place going for another 15. We’ll continue to adapt and change, transform if you will, to keep this place fun and relevant. To make sure we all have a chill spot for after work, after school, when the kids go to bed – a place to be with like-minded folks and enjoy our hobby.
