After years of waiting, fans can finally add the kick-ass lead from the Alien franchise to their NECA Alien Collection. With Alien Series 4, we finally get our hands on an Ellen Ripley figure. Actually, we get two Ripley Figures! The two Ripley’s are joined by Dallas Arthur to create a wave of figures from the original film. I decided to shoot this series as one large gallery, as there were some similarities between figures and because they all go together so well. So, after the jump, you can find over 100 photos of NECA’s Alien Series 4.

Overall
Let’s try to keep this quick. The figures, overall, are pretty fantastic. The sculpting is extremely detailed, with the compression suits looking very screen accurate. If you bought Kane, then you know what to expect in the Nostromo suit versions of Ripley and Dallas. Articulation is well done, though the compressions suit design does prevent a bit of elbow movement. The heads on both compression suit figures pop off easily so you can place the helmets on. The ability to split the helmets into two pieces is a great detail. Even better is that there are a hose and a wire that you can connect to the helmets. Jumpsuit Ripley sports a nice slim figure sculpt. The jumpsuit has some nice sculpting as well, and they do a good job of using the folds to hide some of the articulation points. Her only knock is that the pegs i nthe feet are a bit too shallow to fit the NECA stands.
The likenesses are also good. Ripley looks really well done in person, to me. With my lighting exaggerating the sculpted details, the shadows come off a bit harsh. Out of the two Ripley’s, I do like the jumpsuit head sculpt more. Mainly because the hair feels a bit more natural on that ones. But, for me, it’s the Tom Skerritt likeness that really owns this wave. Dallas really looks dead on. There’s some nice accessories included, but none more important than Ripley’s pet cat; Jonesy. You get two version in the wave, one clam, and one scared. Both have a bit of articulation even! It’s a great addition that I didn’t expect to enjoy as much as I did. The wave is a great addition to this line up. Getting some main characters to flesh out the line adds some nice variety to the shelf.
