Bloodborne is a Playstation 4 action role playing game. In the game, you play as the Hunter, who hunts down and destroys an assortment of beasts in the fictional cursed city of Yharnam. The Hunter uses an assortment of weapons, such as a saw cleaver, swords, guns, and even a giant hammer to slay the beasts. Japanese company Gecco has released a new 1/6 scale statue based on the Bloodborne Hunter. It accurately depicts the mysterious protagonist as he stares into the darkness of Yharnam, prepared for battle.
The Bloodborne Hunter 1/6 Scale Statue is now available. You can buy it Direct from Gecco. They were kind enough to send a copy along. Read on to check out a full review and photo gallery of the statue.
Bloodborne Hunter 1/6 Scale Statue
Pros
- Wonderfully detailed sculpt
- Great paint apps
- Easy to assemble
- Works with upcoming Arms Collection
Cons
- Pose isn’t all that dynamic
Overall
The Bloodborne Hunter comes packaged in a collector friendly windowless box. The statue sits in a plastic tray along with the pieces to assemble it. Assembly is very easy. Place the statue on the included base, insert the hands and it’s display ready. You can just as easily disassemble it and put it back in the box for storage or moving. The easy hand assembly is going to come in handy in the near future. Gecco is launching an “Arms Collection” for the statue. Fans will be able to buy additional swap out weapons based on the game, which is a pretty smart idea. These will include the Hunter Axe, the Blunderbuss and more.
The statue features an intricately detailed sculpt. Each wrinkle in the eyes, each fold in the jacket, each serrated edge of the blade are all handled with great care. It’s a spot on accurate portrayal of the Hunter. The paint is carefully applied to enhance the sculpted detail. Each piece of fabric or skin is handled differently, giving it a nice lifelike look to it. The statue sits atop a cracked cobblestone walkway. The plastic used here is very well done. I didn’t feel any small, brittle pieces that normally accompany plastic statues. Also included is a diorama backdrop, showing Yharnam as seen in the promotional posters for the game. The statue is in a straight up standing pose. There’s no movement to it. An attack or defensive pose would have been fun to have. However, the pose will allow for much easier weapons swapping when the Arms Collection is released.
The Hunter statue is another winner for Gecco. They live up to their normal standards with a beautifully detailed sculpt and excellent paint job. Fans of the game, and those who look to invest in the Arms Collection, will get a lot out of it.
