Comic Book Heroes Minimates Series 1 In-Hand Images

Diamond Select Toys is releasing Minimates based on various comic book properties in collective waves called “Comic Book Heroes”. The figures will pull from non-Marvel and non-DC properties to highlight the best of the rest. Series 1 is due out soon and includes:

Image Comics – Cassie Hack from Hack/Slash & Em Cypress from Revival
Valiant Comics – Ninjak & Shadowman
Image’s Chew -Tony Chu & John Colby & Poyo
Battle Beasts – Ruminant the Giraffe & Spyrnus the Hammerhead Shark

These should work well with their previous waves of 2 packs from more independent minded titles like Battle Beasts, Thief of Thieves, and the Valiant packs. Let’s check out all of Series 1 with over 85 pics after the break!

Overall
This was a fun little set to run through. The Battle Beasts have been awesome since they launched, and these 2 were some of the best yet. Paint and lots of unique parts compared to regular MM offerings make them stand out. The Hack/Slash / Revival set was also well done, both capture their characters likenesses. Ninjack is is a cool little fig and could easily double as a Ninja troop builder for whatever Ninja based scenarios you can cook up. Over in the Chew set, both figures are sharp for otherwise regular looking characters. Plus who doesn’t like robo Roosters. Bottom line this is a great way to get some fresh faces on your shelves, diversify a bit without needing to go all in on a more expensive line for each one.
