We here at Toyark love us some TMNT Minimates! Series 3 dropped a bit ago and we are running catch up today with a gallery of the entire wave, plus another set that we need to catch up on – the First Appearance 4 Pack. Series 3 heads into Season 3’s Vision Quest story with the Turtles done up in their appropriate gear. Splinter gets a clear run celebrating his vision appearance as a chase. The other chase is Ivan Steranko (aka pre-Rocksteady). Rounding out the wave is our first full on mutant offerings in the form of Bebop, Rocksteady and Spike! The First Appearance set features the 4 Turtles in their Mirage Comics looks, they are colored versions of the Black and White set released at SDCC 2015. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Minimates Series 3
Overall
First Appearance 4 Pack – Classic. If you were going to pick a single version of the turtles, these would do you nice. They have the weapons, manhole cover stands, classic comic design on the face, colors pop, they scream TMNT. Teamed up with the Black & White versions, it’s a nice little display.
Series 3 – Another strong wave. The mandatory Turtles are there but significantly different from previous offerings so that’s good. Chases are solid, but not core so if you miss out it’s not killer. Full on mutant bad guys are awesome, that’s another sub-theme to look forward to after the Space waves play out (hopefully).
Bottom line – TMNT Minimates continues it’s strong run and has plans for at least 2 more waves, Series 4 & 5. It’s shaping up as a full line with tons more possibilities, here’s to 10 more waves! :)
