NECA Reveals Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Arcade Game Figures

NECA clarified that these will be available at San Diego Comic-Con only. Licensing restrictions from the parent companies (Nickelodeon and likely Playmates) prevents these from beign available elsewhere beside the con. This is what they tweeted out:

FYI – the only way we are able to make TMNT in this scale is for cons only & sold only in sets. License restrictions, no retail.

Later, NECA stated they have been working for weeks to allow sales via the NECA Club website (where NECA normally offers their SDCC exclusives to non-attendees). Unfortunately, it doesn’t sound like the licensor is going to allow that to happen.

NECA dropped a major bombshell today. They will be releasing new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles figures. These awesome new 7″ scale figures are based on the classic, and original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles video game by Konami. In that game, released in 1989, fans got an astounding 4-player experience with some of the most cartoon accurate graphics of the time. You battled your way through New York city, the sewers and the Technodrome as you fight to defeat The Shredder and Krang once and for all. The game was released in the golden age of side-scrolling beat ’em ups, where Konami dominated the arcades with games like this, the sequel (Turtles in Time), the Simpsons and the iconic 6-player X-Men game.

We couldn’t be more excited to announce two Comic-Con exclusive sets that have been in the works for a while now! From the classic Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 4-player arcade game, we’ll have 4-figure box sets for both the Turtles and the Foot Clan coming to San Diego Comic Con.

TMNT (Arcade Appearance) – Turtles Box Set
Cowabunga, dude! This SDCC-exclusive box set is based on the classic Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 4-player co-op arcade game and features brand new figure sculpts and deluxe packaging. Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo and Raphael stand approximately 6” tall and feature over 30 points of articulation, including double knee joints to fully showcase their mastery of the martial arts. Special paint deco reflects the Turtles’ in-game appearance. The box set is packed with accessories, including signature weapons, interchangeable hands, pizza power-up and more. The set comes in gorgeous, display-friendly 5th panel window box packaging that re-creates the look of the actual arcade cabinet!

Cowabunga, dude! This SDCC-exclusive box set is based on the classic Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 4-player co-op arcade game and features brand new figure sculpts and deluxe packaging. Shredder and the Foot Clan stand approximately 6” tall and feature over 30 points of articulation, including double knee joints for dynamic poses. Special paint deco reflects their in-game appearance. The box set is packed with accessories, including oversized hammer, swords, throwing star, rifle, dynamite and more. The set comes in gorgeous, display-friendly 5th panel window box packaging that re-creates the look of the actual arcade cabinet!
