Back in 2011, I randomly picked up Bluefin’s SDCC S.H. Figuarts Dragonball Z exclusive Goku. It was my first Dragonball figure in years, and it was my first S.H. Figuarts period. Don’t know why I did it, I guess I just dug the idea of a kick ass Goku on the shelf. The intent was for it to be a one off in a mix-match set up, just to rep DBZ in a small way. 5 years later – that’s out the window. This year’s SDCC exclusive was a premium repaint of their largest DBZ figure yet – Broly. The key differences are neon green hair, tan pants, and a more beige skin tone. The rest including accessories and faces are pretty much the same. Let’s take a look after the break!

Overall
Overall the figure is well done. It has a great stance, articulation is solid. Colors pop. But it’s very similar to the original. I wasn’t super hype about it when they announced it, I just felt like I had to grab it. If you missed Broly the first time, or super-duper love Broly, then yeah, it’s a great pick up. For those that have been trucking along with the line for 5+ years now, it’s more of a filler piece – skippable if you aren’t a completionist even. But man he does photograph well and is fun to “play” with. :) If you can grab him for a reasonable price, do it!
