McFarlane Titanfall 2 BT-7274 Deluxe 10-Inch Figure – Toyark Photo Shoot

By Joe Moore on April 3, 2017 at 10:15 am under Random Photo Shoot, Video Game Toy News

The original Titanfall video game was a multi-player first person shooter for the Xbox One. In the game, you controlled a pilot that could take control of a massive mech called a Titan. When the sequel was released, EA chose to publish the game across multiple platforms and also added a fully developed single player campaign to the already popular multi-player modes. In the story, you control a you pilot named Jack Cooper. Through a series of events early on, you become linked to BT-7274, a Titan previously linked to your mentor. Jack and BT’s journey takes them to numerous locations as they battle the IMC and their mercenaries, all with their own Titan mechs.

I was personally a big fan of Titanfall 2‘s single player campaign. I loved the scenarios and the story was easy enough to follow and held my interest throughout. I loved the dynamic gameplay variations between controlling Jack Cooper and controlling BT7274. McFarlane Toys has released BT-7274 with Jack Cooper as part of their Deluxe 10″ Scale Figure line. Toyark sponsor Entertainment Earth sent along figure figure, and we have a full gallery and review.

Titanfall 2 BT-7274 with Pilot Jack Cooper Deluxe 10-Inch Figure

Pros

  • Great sculpt on BT-7274
  • Jack Cooper has a small bit of articulation
  • Paint applications is clean and sharp
  • Strong joints
  • More articulation than most of their 10″ Figures

Cons

  • Lacks knee and waist articulation
  • Cockpit doesn’t open

Overall
The BT-7274 figure comes packaged in a large window box. The packaging features artwork from the game on the front and sides, with photos of other McFarlane Titanfall products on the back. Inside, the figure sits on a plastic tray, held in by a few twist ties. A cardboard backer is also included. The packaging is collector friendly, so you can easily place it back in the box for display or storage. Included in this release is the BT-7274 Figure, a small Pilot Jack Cooper and BT’s X016-A2 weapon. There are no interchangeable parts or stands included.

Once removed from the box, the figure is essentially ready for display. You can place the gun in his hands and set Jack Cooper on BT’s shoulder. Sadly, the cockpit doesn’t open, so Jack can really only be displayed sitting atop BT-7274. The figure is constructed of a nice quality plastic, which has a nice bit of heft to it. The weight is mainly in the upper body, so you’ll need to position the legs in a decent pose to prevent him from toppling over. The sculpt is nice and detailed for both BT and Jack. BT, especially, is handled well, with lots of intricate mechanical bits, hoses and weaponry sculpted throughout. The figure looks like it stepped right out of the game. Jack looks good, but is a bit more simple, as he’s sculpted in a dynamic pose that allows for only one way to display him. Paint quality is strong, with very clean lines and no noticeable paint bleed. There are numerous spots where graphics and text are printed on the mech, and those are easily readable and sharp.

The BT figure has some articulation, mainly in the arms and hips. this is actually more than most of their 10″ figures, which tend to act more as statues. BT-7274 has full motion in the shoulders, single jointed elbows and fully articulated wrists. The hips are ball jointed and have a solid range of motion. However, the hip articulation is offset by the lack of any knee or ankle articulation, rendering the movable hips nearly useless. The design of the Titan leaves perfect spacing for waist articulation, but the figure lacks any movement in the torso. What you mainly have is a statue with poseable arms.

In the end I’m actually pretty happy about the figure. The sculpt is stellar and the paint work is spot on. The lack of articulation in key spots is a knock against it, but the strong build quality, large scale and game accurate sculpt make for a great display piece. Check out some highlight photos below and the full gallery after that.
