DC Collectibles Designer Series takes a specific artist’s style and turns it into action figures. There have been several runs so far, the best being the Capullo Batman series. Earlier this year they dropped another solid set – DC Comic Bombshells. It features the art of Ant Lucia, who did the women of the DC Universe in WWII styles. Wave 1 was great, featuring Wonder Woman, Poison Ivy, Harley Quinn and Batwoman. Wave 2 is set to drop soon and features Hawkgirl, Mera, Katana and Batgirl. Again, all 4 are superbly done. Overall Thoughts:
Another great round. I really dig the 6.75 inch scale – it allows the sculpt to breath a bit. Awesome facial expressions and unique body styles shine on each. There are less accessories this round, and no extra hands. Each comes with what they need to though – backpack, jet, sword, trident. The only thing I would have preferred is if Mera came with her salute hand to match the original concept art for this version. Paint is also well done, executed cleanly throughout. A couple speckles here and there but no major issues. All in all it’s an impressive 4 figures, and when paired with the first four, it’s a great shelf line up!
