It’s been just about a year since the last series of Funko Legacy 6″ Scale Figures was released. The last assortment, based on League of Legends, was short lived. Over the relatively small life span of the line, Funko released 6″ scale figures based on fan favorite properties such as Game of Thrones, Firefly, The Rocketeer, and more. As the line continued, interest seemed to wane a bit, as Funko picked up licenses that never seemed to resonate with figure collectors. However, in a new interview over at Action Figure Junkies, Funko CEO Brian Mariotti reveals that the Legacy Series is far from dead.
They have secured the rights to Mad Max: Fury Road for a line of 6″ scale figures in the Legacy line! Other companies have attempted to secure rights to make figures from the film franchise, but have always been met with resistance from creator and director George Miller. Funko originally broke through the licensing hurdle with the release of Mad Max: Fury Road Pop! Vinyl Figures, Mystery Minis and a Rock Candy Figure.
