Predator, the iconic 1987 film featuring Arnold Schwarzenegger, Carl Weathers and many more, kicked off one of the most enduring sci-fi horror franchises (along with Alien). Eaglemoss has been releasing numerous miniature statues based on the Predator series and they are now kicking off a line of larger releases. Now available directly from Eaglemoss (Order Here) is their Predator 13.5″ Tall Mega Statue. This 1/7 scale statue features the classic Jungle Hunter Predator as he unmasks to reveal his horrifying true face. The statue stands atop a themed base, with a torn out skull and spinal column. The statue is cast in hand painted metallic resin. It’s limited to just 500 pieces and is priced at $142.45 (normally $149.95).

The new Mega Predator Statue is packaged in a collector friendly windowless box. The packaging is mostly black with some images of the statue on it. The statue itself sits in a foam tray and is wrapped in tissue paper. There is no assembly required and the statue is ready for display right out of the box. Also included is a magazine and certificate of authenticity.
As with some of their previous larger scale statue releases, the Eaglemoss team did a nice job in crafting this statue. The sculpted details are pretty strong. There’s nice detailing in the face and mask. The netting is sculpted in and there’s a nice fine bit of texture on the mask and armored pieces. It’s close, but maybe not quite as finely detailed as, say, a NECA 1/4 scale Predator. That’s being nit picky as looking at the statue overall, the sculpt work is definitely good. It’s on par with their previous Big Chap Alien and Alien Space Jockey sculpt work for sure. Sharp edges, such as the teeth, blades and claws are all nice and sharp, and don’t suffer from soft edges that can sometimes pop up on statues of this nature. By using metallic resin, they have a solid statue that does not feel fragile. Even the extended blades have a sturdy feeling to them. The pose here is nice, and it’s good to see the mask included, which helps to make the whole thing a bit more dynamic looking. The paint work here is mostly strong, with a good mix of colors and some good transitions between the lighter and darker colors of the Predator. The armored pieces have a nice fleck metal paint look to them. There are some inconsistencies in the paint application here. Some areas, such as where the hand meets the mask or the outfit meets the exposed skin, don’t have the cleanest of lines and paint bleeds over. It’s not widespread on the statue, but is noticeable in areas. With these being hand painted, this may not be widespread.
For the size and solid construction, the price is not bad. The sculpt, pose, statue base and most of the paint look really good here. If you’re looking for a large Predator Statue to join your existing Eaglemoss Mega Statues, then it’s worth checking this out. You can see some select photos below and the full gallery after that.
